cmdr_flashheart: Well, if I am wrong in my thinking, I'd like to know :] I personally don't care about the actual values, if someone is happy getting a game, then that's what matters. But the purpose of this thread to pass on the gift of game, so I am trying to prevent any reasons for using this thread for exploitative reasons; giving bundle keys for GOG keys seemed like such an instance to me.
Understood. I think I'll just drop it then, for the sake of fairness. Anyway, Redshirt (Steam) is available in either case, if anyone's interested! :)

roelibex: Already too much "rules" in this new thread. How about just let the gifter decide if he wants to gift the game?
Sorry, I am forum novice, pleased to meet you :[

I like what you're saying, though- it's something to consider!

Hey i am not a regular forum poster either, but i just dont like a thread with too much rules which you need to read through before typing anything. I just like the thread to dont have much rules except.
Just take 1 gift 1
Gifter decides if he's okey with it.

Leroux: Hm, I thought this was a giveaway, not a trading thread? How about claiming a GOG game for someone else even though I can only offer a Steam key for the giveaway? Because I think this new member might be really happy about getting Neverwinter Nights. If theslitherydee and cmdr_flashheart would be okay with bending the new rule under these circumstances and gift NWN to the person mentioned above, I could offer Redshirt (Steam) for this thread.
I have an extra key that I just dispatched. ;)

I noticed and upvoted your post. That's true generosity! My hat's off to you. :)
Hopefully your offer will be appreciated.

So, main problem, as i understood, is that while Desura\Steam keys is mostly comes from various cheap or not that cheap bundles, GOG keys, usually, is keys purchased for real $$$ (even if they was on sale at purchase moment) and there is much bigger natural value in them. There was some bundles\deals offering GOG keys (IndieGameStand mostly and, unexpectedly, IndieGala sometimes), but its very uncommon overall.

P.S. Lets all dig in more into gifting then arguing. So i first shall shut up.

This thread will either turn into a ninja or trading thread but the idea is interesting nonetheless.
Anyone wants to conquer Europe in Crusader Kings Complete (STEAM) ?

roelibex:
Yeah, but if someone is making a gift out of being generous, they will feel weird all of a sudden saying, no your gift is shit, I don't want to proceed. I think once the thread is, like, a few weeks old everything will settle into place.

We wouldn't have the rules if there weren't people who want to prey on the generosity of others.

Redfern: (Dammit, make me mute), but there is still interesting question - can QUANTITY compensate QUALITY? If someone feel like his offer inferior, is it ok to add more stuff?
I don't think so, there are plenty of bundles you can get for cheap, is what I mean.

Ok, i see. Guess, its really not easy to prevent gift for gift from degradation to trading, as BlackDawn said.

I already asked this and apparently that is considered trading...
Since the actual giveaways are risking to get lost among the rules discussion, I've taken the liberty to update LoboBlanco's post - I hope (s)he doesn't mind! :)

Yeah maybe, time will tell.
However, the value of a game is highly subjective. So for one person a game maybe shit, but not for another.

I think what cmdr means, is that someone could purchase some bundles for a dollar each and have get ~5 for that dollar and can practically snatch away all the games without spending money. It's not really about a game being "shit" or good or anything.

Aaanyway, to get this thread back to the topic, let's add Waking Mars to the mix, (again for Steam).

theslitherydeee: The rules have been revised to make it GOG for GOG keys only.
avatar
katsaysmeh: Aww, that's too bad. I'll give away Tiny and Big: Grandpa's Leftovers anyway though. (:
I would like it, I just entered Crusader Kings Complete into the fray...

Edit: Thanks a lot!
