Patch number 6 for the third part of the cult RPG series has just arrived on our computers and with it, apart from many small fixes, come two very interesting additions. To begin with, your character in Baldur's Gate 3 can now become a sorcerer, skilled in the powerful art of metamagic. Secondly, Grymforge – a sprawling city located in the Underdark – is now open for visitors.

On the occasion of the update’s release, Sven Vincke, the founder of Larian Studios, gave an interesting interview you should definitely check out.

This looks amazing and Id love to try it, but I know nothing about the tabletop D&D system or anything related. Just reading about how complicated it is makes it intimidating to get in to.

just start playing you'll get the hand of it quickly. it does take some getting use to but it's worth the learnig time. super fun and rage inducing lol
Can't wait until it's finally released as I don't buy games that are still in the oven, as a general rule.

Me neither, already got burned by Kentucky Route Zero´s long road to finish line (and other games), although, luckily, they were one of those who actually finished their game.

I only have the free version of that game which is the first chapter, but now that I know it's finished it's currently on my wishlist!

Yeah, I did make an exception to my rule with Subnautica Below zero as they had completed a game before and they actually had a release date which they honored, I also have Kynseed, though I got that for free, which is just as well as it's currently in development hell, much like scorn I doubt it will ever get released!
I don't see why a patch is news or why you placed this here instead of the BG3 forum but thanks for letting us know about the interview
OMFG why on earth is this game at the 80GB size mark? holycrapamoly....
I deeply want to play this game but I can't justify spending $60 on early access, no matter how much I love the studio. I love Larian and I absolutely plan to buy it when it's fully out though!

If you watch gameplay demos, it's not your typical isometric RPG, you can play it with a more common third person perspective a la Dragon Age: Origins or The Witcher.

Yeah, it's pretty small right now, but it's still relatively early in development, so it should get closer to the size of other modern games by the time it's done.

5 edition is nothing like the older ones with their quirky mechanics. It plays pretty much like any generic RPG.

Consider this as preorder with bonus early access.

This feels like a joke announcement. "Hey players, we finally added a magic class!"

As if adding the most basic of D&D classes was some incredible feat.

For the matter of the actual newspost, I don't really care. As others say, wake me when the game is feature complete.

Or maybe companies could learn to optimize their games again and start shrinking them.

There's better systems than D&D, but literally nothing stops you from setting up a game.

I think it looks awesome, but I also don't agree with charging full price for a game that is still in development. Imo, they should charge $20-30 for the in-dev version and then give those buyers a discount on the complete game. I like Larian and I enjoyed D:OS, but I will not pay full price for an incomplete game from a well-established developer.

The size of modern games is definitely something that puts me off buying them. I know it's full 3D but that's no excuse imo - 80GB is ludicrous. Developers need to start offering different download options based on resolution. I generally only play on 1080p and don't want a huge data storage burden for the sake of those that want to play on 4K, etc.
