I have the Atomic. You must be using a graphics enhancer of some kind.

Yes, I'm currently playing the Megaton Edition, but you can achieve a similar result with eDuke32.

And of course the Megaton Edition is never to be available again. :O Assholes.
Here's a nice screenshot of the game I'm currently playing.

tinyE: Not to be a dick, but is anyone other than Hikage1983 and Vythonaut playing anything made in the past twenty years? :P
In fact, Falcon 4.0 is older that what you think it actually is.. :P

tinyE: Back OT.
Showing this now because I think I may need to sell this prison. The canteen and yard are too small for more inmates and I don't feel like building multiples.
I'm getting 'The Escapists' flashbacks looking at that. Seriously though looks like a fun game but I'm staying away. I figure once I start it will be really difficult to stop :P

lanipcga: How unicorns actually became extinct.
Ah ancient behemoths, possibly the scariest lvl 7 creatures in the game. That unicorn is about to eat it :P Which reminds me, I've got to dig up my saves and continue with my attempted playthrough of homm3.

Matewis: That looks incredible. What combat flight sim is it? Is it any good? Are there a satisfying amount of missions with interesting and challenging objectives to complete?

Vythonaut: It's Falcon BMS 4.33, a free modification of Microprose's Falcon 4.0 (available on GOG as Falcon Collection in case you missed it). It is one of the best combat flight sims out there but it requires great amounts of dedication (the learning curve is nothing short of staggering and you must be armed with patience as you go through the manuals/tutorials on Youtube/actual training) and a good joystick. Head tracking will be helpful too since you won't be needed to grow a third (or fourth) hand, but not critical to learn and play the game.

The campaign is dynamic and it is great; it runs alongside the game and whatever you do has an impact on the outcome of the war. The F-16, being a multi-role aircraft, allows for a number of different missions such as A-A, DEAD, SEAD etc. so you won't get bored, especially since everything feels "alive" and you may find that careful planning is one thing while sticking to it and finding things aren't what you expected them to be is another.

BMS may be hardcore, but it rewards you with some of the finest and most realistic modern combat flight action there is. You can check out some videos such as this (youtu.be/JFo6uYweVGg) and this (youtu.be/o5U67Qs7OI8) on YT to get a glimpse of the action and since it is free, just go download it and see for yourself. ;)
Great thanks :) That sounds a 'little' intimidating but I'll be sure to give it a serious go once I have a proper gaming rig again (only this time with a proper joystick setup). Based on my time with F-117 and novalogic's F-16 few if any games can give you the same sense of accomplishment you get when you finally manage to land safely at your own base after a long and dangerous mission. Well, or to at least eject over friendly territory :P

OT : Accidentally managed to piss off a named netch on my way back to Vivec this morning to run a short errand. Stopped and enjoyed the sunrise when I got there : https://imgur.com/a/A7QrQ

How did you get that to happen? I've only ever seen that kind of glitch in one game, Montezuma's Revenge for The Atari 800XL :S

It involves a glitch known as YBA. To do this, you need to be playing the Japanese 1.0 version; if you are doing so, using a blue potion on the same frame you transition from one screen to another will bring up the flute screen, where you can choose where you want to go.

If you do this in a dungeon, the game gets confused and you end up with some *really* glitchy graphics when you try to move around.

For an example of a similar glitch (though using a red potion instead of a blue one), you can check out a Reverse Boss Order speedrun of the game. For example, this one:

(The glitch happens just after 1:32:30 in the video.)
Having a hoot with my 1st playthrough of this marvel...

We need a separate thread on bizarre graphical glitches. I once somehow made Lara Croft fall forever. I can't recreate it because I'm not sure what TR game I did it on.
