The legendary Syndicate will take over GOG.com on the 19th of January.

The original sci-fi strategy Syndicate will be released on GOG.com for $5.99 this Thursday. This gritty cyberpunk treasure shows up here with some bonus content: the game manual, dark SF artworks, and avatars.

As you can read in this review Syndicate is “A modern masterpiece. The self-respecting gamer should ensure they have Syndicate nestling snugly on the games shelf as soon as possible.” Follow the wise advice and get Syndicate in just two days for $5.99.

While you’re waiting, we’re having a fun contest to keep you guys occupied until Thursday:

Syndicate is a game set in a grim future. As the world’s multinational corporations grew, their profits began to rival those of small countries. Soon they owned small countries and corporate influence was felt at the highest level of world government. Smaller corporations were swallowed up like plankton in the wake of behemoth mega-corporations.

GOG.com needs your help to take over the world. You and three friends--real or imaginary, past or future--are going to form a team that you’d recommend to us to lead the charge to make GOG.com the world’s biggest Syndicate.

We want to know if you’re up for the challenge.

Mission:
Assemble your team of cyborgs, give us your Team Name, Method of Operation, and any other relevant information you'd like.

Go on, spread your influence across the globe and tell us how.

Bounty:
1 free copy of Syndicate for the 10 posters who have the best Syndicate team. We’ll be reading through all of your posts (Hello, discordiac, our new marketing manager who “volunteered” for this job!) and picking the ones that we like best.

Rules:
1. Only one entry post per user. Feel free to comment & edit until the contest closes.
2. You may enter into similar contests that we are running on Twitter and Facebook, but only once via each different channel.
3. We will be picking 10 of our favorite teams from this thread to win their free copies of Syndicate.
4. The contest will end on Thursday the 19th of January 2012 at 7:00 AM EST.
Team name:

The Love Boat

Team members:

Anthony Motorbottom - The team leader. Can point signs out to other team members with his Fingers of Everlasting Integrity, which they will then presumably read.

No. 7 - Can rehydrate his eyeballs in the blink of an eye.

Inspector Gadget - Dooo doo-doo doo-doo, Inspector Gadget. Doo doo-doo doo-doo, doo-doo (doo-doo!).

The Stig - Not the actual Stig from Top Gear, though he certainly thinks he is. Runs around with his arms sticking sideways saying "vroom vroom".

Method of Operation

In order to reverse the progress made by the TAGES DRM corporation, The Love Boat seeks to infiltrate their offices and replace their central computer with Bob Saget, because they enjoy anagrams.

Team Name:
Jackson Four (however, their enemies only call them "The Cyjerks")

Members:
John Jackson
Jack Johnson
Steve Williams
William Stevenson
(but let's not lie to ourselves - they all look and behave exactly the same)

Modus Operandi:
Going in guns blazing and carrying a minigun each. After the area is clear they teabag every single enemy who still resembles a human (due to their crude methods most foes end up looking like swiss cheese) - this habit is what gave them the nickname "Cyjerks".

Paczyk: I am sorry, but this version of Syndicate is without the American Revolt expansion.
This I can read myself on the gamecard :D

I was asking - are you working on this, and when can we expect any results? ;)

Ubivis: one thing is funny... it does not show up to be compatible with Windows XP :)

Paczyk: My mistake, sorry ;)
Syndicate is, of course, compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.
Thank you, also updated on the Wiki :)

Method
Our main assets are extremely good looks, well-slicked hair, smooth speech, and chivalry. The impression we leave on others is lasting. We will start with a core group of followers that spread our anti-DRM message via word of mouth.

The idea catches. It digs into the very core of a person's persona. "DRM?" They wonder. "I guess it isn't as tolerable and necessary as big business coerced me into thinking."

A frontal assault isn't necessary. As our fame increases, so will the weight of our words. We don't back down in our stance; we become more outspoken. The legend of our movement soon becomes greater than the four of us, but we still lead the charge.

Bonus Info
We never, ever don monk attire.

(Not going to go through all entries to see if this is close to any previously posted. If it is, please disregard! I've also never played the game so I won't have any insight on how the game mechanics actually work. But, that's why I want to win it!)
I really wish I could buy a preorder and preload of Thursday. Failing that, this will be a definite instabuy upon release. A little bit of a pity that the expansion wont be available, but not a big issue for me.

Be sure to be on the look out for five or six free Syndicate codes from me. One of you may even win a little something extra. ;)

Team Name: Cooper Team
Method of Operation: Scorched Earth - our incredibly OP abilities right out of the gate allow us to use whatever brutal forces please us the most to enforce our will and complete our objectives! With more weapons, money and upgrades than we know what to do with, we conquer the world allowing our Syndicate to grow faster and stronger than all the rest!

IIRC, it wasn't that good to start with. The Atlantis mission was just insane.
Now I'd like to request Theme Hospital, Theme Park World and Populous: The Beginning, and my jizzlist is complete. (well, without SS2 it will never be complete, but I know it's near to impossible to get this)
My Team would be as follows:

Team Name

Hearts, Smarts and Poptarts

Method of Operation

Being brilliant. Voices and personalities so large and renown they could not be ignored.

Team Members

1: Richard Stallman. (Hearts)

Creator of the GNU (General Public License) Movement and Linux. A man who to this day fights for software to be opensource and available to all.

2: Albert Einstein. (Smarts)

A man who's genius and wit has not been matched in the scientific community. After graduating Einstein could not find work as a teacher and instead took a job at the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property.

3: Gabe Newell. (Poptarts)

One man who I wish would fight for a DRM free world. Founder of Valve, owner of Steam which owns an estimated 80% of all digital distribution sales in the world. If one man could make a deathblow to DRM it would be Gabe, and all he would have to do is release a NoDRM launcher for Steam. Just a couple of lines of code and we could live in a vastly different market space.

Sadly I do not see Gabe joining our side anytime soon, but if we are playing make believe then this is one man I would absolutely want fighting for my side.

Thomas Jefferson - He would make living without DRM an inalienable right, as outlined in the Declaration of Independence.

Gouverneur Morris - He would codify this right in the US Constitution.
