What I would LOVE for GoG to support are the new netbooks. They are right in line with these modest PC specs:
Windows XP Home or Vista
Intel Atom 1.6GHz (roughly equal to 2.0GHz P4)
1GB RAM Standard (upgradeable to 2GB)
4GB to 20GB SSD (Solid State Disk) or 160GB HDD versions
Intel GMA 950 Graphics
1024x600 resolution (9 in or 10 in)
Mainly if they could integrate some of the "hacks" that allow for widescreen, or get assistance from the developer/publisher to make widescreen possible, would be awesome!

Well, the service GoG.com advertises and is best setup to deliver is a unadulterated version of the game.
HOWEVER, on a game by game basis, getting what you want is very, very easy (in general...). In my case, all the games I've bought so far have very easy-to-use fanmade mods or patches to allow things like widescreen, and while GoG doesn't include that material you've probably noticed they often sticky "Mods for this game!" topics in every game board.
My advice is check the specific board of any game you're interested. If the mod you're looking for or fan-community is not listed, post anyway asking other users. Works most of the time. For instance, I am using a engine port for Descent 1+2 which GoG has no sticky about, but other users recommended. Gives me widescreen and was a simple cut/paste install.
Hope that helps.
I made a topic a while ago about this site a lot of people use to find modifications to use widescreen in a lot of games...
I typed up quite a bit of information for it, but it seemed like most people already knew about it... :(

I was just about to suggest widescreengamingforum but your thread explains it all and well RadicalTed. +1
Thanks.
I guess what I was getting at is it would be a nice feature to have games come with the mod or patch to allow it to run widescreen. Preferably something from the developer, but since these ARE old games, and some developers may not even exist any more (rights owned by publisher probably), then some form of included mod would be good.
I know all about modifying myself. I have a site dedicted to Eee gaming (www.gameeer.com). But just would be nice feature to have it support widescreen out of the box - so to speak.
