hummer010: Daedalic and Deponia series: There has been a Linux version on steam for months now. I sent an email to Daedalic asking when we might see the Linux versions here on GOG. Their response:

thanks for contacting the Daedalic Support.

Unfortunately I cannot give you any concrete information about Linux versions on GOG. If you like, I could inform you as soon as something about this changes.

Kind regards,

Your Daedalic Support Team.

hummer010:
Great timing! They just added the Linux version to the Deponia games.

Isn't that funny. I sent the email last week, and they couldn't tell me anything, yet it was obviously already in the works.
With the current promo going on, I remembered another one; The Chaos Engine. The GOG version has no online multiplayer, while the Steam version does.

No update as far as I know.

- Spelunky: Daily challenges will not be added, except if the developers decide to use GOG Galaxy.

- Sam & Max Save the World: Still no patch.

- Botanicula: Still offers only a demo soundtrack.

- Outlast: The game is still not offering a soundtrack as a bonus or even an option to purchase it.
.....

D'oh. Reading comprehension fail...

Sigh..thanks.

fronzelneekburm: Added Sam & Max Save the World to the Hall of Shame because of this.
This is a good and useful idea for a thread, so thank you for that.

About Sam & Max Save the World, does it have any other near-game-breaking bugs in addition to Sybil being invisible?

And in Sybil's office, is the problem that you sometimes can't find her because she is in different places, and you get stuck, and you can't finish the game? Or is it that she's invisible, but you can still talk to her and progress past her?

Hehe, exact same thing happened to me with "Mark Of The Ninja"! I asked them whether there are any plans to release it on GOG and I got a very friendly reply that they're "working on it", but couldn't give me a date yet. A week later, it arrived here.
Added Lovely Planet and Chaos Engine to the mix. Thanks for the suggestions!

hyperagathon: The GOG version of Lovely Planet doesn't feature leaderboards or OS X support. Email I got from the developer calls it "inferior".
Wow, that's golden! Maybe the guy should get his ass in gear and his game up to scratch instead of bitching about how outdated versions he doesn't bother to patch are "inferior"?

Nothing else near-game-breaking, unless you're in this position: http://www.gog.com/forum/sam_and_max_series/cant_get_sam_max_save_the_world_episode_5_to_start_at_all

Ep. 5 is an older version (apparently to avoid a bug that was added in an update): Sam and Max can't run, only walk.

The Ep. 6 end credits are subject to some weird distortions.
Fist Puncher has Robot Unicorn as a DLC character in Steam only, and Hatoful Boyfriend also has some bonus items only in the Steam version.

Yeah, I'm not sure what to think of it. On the one hand, I appreciate that it's on GOG (ie, DRM-free), but on the other, why do that if you're going to cripple functionality? Or perhaps, why rely on Steam-only crap if you're going to sell it elsewhere? The leadboards part is just laziness (or a ploy by Valve to lock gamers and developers into forever using their crap, but let's ignore that for now), but the OS X thing I really don't get.

The existence of this list really makes me wonder about how GOG goes about updating things. It was sort of straightforward while it was Good Old Games, but the newer titles get updated, sometimes frequently, and who is responsible for keeping track of it all? Probably not GOG, and if the dev doesn't really care about anything except Steam...

Thanks for the response. In the bug where Sybil is invisible, does she stop being invisible after you initiate a conversation with her? Or does she remain invisible throughout the entire conversation? It would be weird to have a whole conversation with an invisible person!

She goes back to normal after you click on 'her'.

Actually, I recall another bug where she'd lose her animation and be standing like a scarecrow, but I can't remember when (even in which episode) that occurred.
