The quintessential freebie game on Windows 3.1 computers is a fun yet challenging puzzle game that is still fun to play today.

The long-dormant sequel to the original classic is finally getting a new lease on life this May on Steam. Let's bring it here, too!
Mini Metro is a minimalistic subway construction game where you make station and conect them but since the city is constantly growing you have to adapt the lines so that your sub system keeps operating until it comes to a hold and game ends.

Machines

Release year: 1999
Genre: RTS (with option to directly control any unit in first-person mode)
Developer: Charybdis Ltd.
Publisher: Acclaim Entertainment

+Nice graphics and a fairly unique art style
+Cool soundtrack
+Some unique/uncommon gameplay features (first-person mode, ability to steal research and resources from enemy structures, salvaging destroyed units and buildings)
+Widescreen support

-AI pathfinding can be a bit sluggish
-Some low-resolution terrain textures

Compatibility is getting worse with newer hardware and operating systems - the game won't install on Windows 7 (can still be played by installing on XP or older, then copying over the install folder) and apparently has major issues running at all on Windows 8 and newer.
Some GPUs encounter severe graphical issues. Performance is inconsistent on others.
The way Windows 7 handles CD audio seems to result in the music and sound effect volume levels being tied together - using the volume slider for either affects both.

Links:
Archive of the original official website (has feature list, game backstory, screenshots)
, a recently resurrected fan community site - possibly the only active one left ([url=http://steamcommunity.com/groups/wiredforwar]WiredForWar Steam Group, WiredForWar.org old forum archive)
Eden4, a fansite (last updated 1999)
machinesthegame.co.uk, a fansite (?)

Screenshots:

First-person battle
Nice lighting, day/night cycle
Distant buildings

All the MetalTech games should be here, in my opinion. Cyberstorm and Earthsiege both. Might have to do with whoever has the Starsiege licenses, though.

groze: Ronin, an upcoming "turn-based action platformer".

So far, it didn't even have a wishlist entry, and mine is the only vote...

Then again, given the relationship between GOG and Devolver Digital, chances are it will end up here anyway, but just to be safe, vote for it,

PAMELA. It looks like Alien Isolation set on the Citadel. It's set for next year, so theres always the chance it will never come out, but the concept alone has me sold.

Strike series

Fly around with a helicopter on an isometric map and destroy everything. Even if you're not into arcade shooters this is fun as hell. Simple controls, no BS.

Desert Strike: Return to the Gulf

Jungle Strike

Urban Strike

Soviet Strike

Nuclear Strike
Firefight: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/fire_fight

I had this game on my first gaming PC, one of my favorite top-down shooters of the DOS-gaming era, some sites list it as abandonware though, but I think that's a grey zone and would prefer to have it here and 100% legal.

Hi-Octane: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/hioctane (this already has a bit more than 300 votes, but is one of my faves ;) )

A Bullfrog classic, I got it when I was looking for a game similar to Wipeout XL (which ran like cr*ap on my machine because I didn't had a 3D-accelerator at that time, I had a Trident 9440 PCI 1MB), it lacks content, but still a good game.

And an awesome third person shooter:

Outwars http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/outwars

Running at minimum with my 9440 PCI, it looked so good for that card, was unbelievable.

Skyward Collapse is a god game made by Arcen games. As usual with Arcen the game has a twist. You control the development of nations fighting to eliminate each other but your goal is not their victory over themselves but upholding the balance of power between them as long as possible.

What I really like is that Sillysoft now offers the game on Steam together with American History Lux and Ancient Empires Lux as a bundle.

Hopefully that version will come to gog to in time.
