If you enter the regional prices, leave the global prices of gifts please.
This will stop of resales from cheap regions.
It will allow to limit resales of games.

interesting idea
Not really practical as I am sure there would still be some people gifting in the same low price regions as well.
Not voting

Why should this be treated any differently than DRM?

We've been buying on trust for 7 years, why would we suddenly en masse start 'cheating' via regional pricing?

I detest being made to subsidise other regions because of their rampant piracy, but I don't really see a justification to punish those who do want to buy gifts legitimately.
If I was GOG, I think the most logical step I would take would be to implement a gift system based on GOG accounts rather than e-mail addresses, then charge the buyer the price used in the last region the recipient has been registered in.
For example, if a Russian wanted to gift me Sacrifice he should choose "gift to GOG account: Enebias>choose game>checkout" rather than "choose game>checkout>send to enebias@ghost.com", then pay 9,99$ rather than the usual cheaper price due to me being in Italy.
Same goes for me: if I buy a game for a Russian account, I should pay the Russian price.
That way it wouldn't be necassry to always globally charge the highest sum, and there would not be a big difference in revenues. I don't know if this is feasible, though.

Also, it would probably kill gifting to anonymous people... I guess they should leave the system as it is under that aspect. "Redeem where you want, as long the price is equal or higher".

Edited for typos.

Something like that. Also a good idea!

Sounds like a great way to avoid the "you filthy rich europeans" tax and gift myself sum gamez at US price. I'm strongly considering voting!

They have already restricted their own game The Witcher 3 from being gifted from the RU region so its only a matter of time until other publishers start asking GOG to do the same for their games.
How big is this market that makes people so worried about gog's/publisher's profits? An other thing which I don't understand is why would anyone risk getting scammed when you can buy a cheap vpn (maybe even free) with Russian IPs.

Yeah, if it's cheaper to give games, 99% of the users will give the games to "another" user.

It's not about piracy at all. It's about different salaries and stuff. Also some developers are way too greedy. In the US region game is $50. In European region it's 75 euro. WTF man? As if whole European region is a country which got 20% bigger salaries than average in US.

Hmm, if it would be about average salaries and not about piracy then Russia would have to be the country in the world with the lowest salaries, according to GOG. But it isn't and so there must be something else and piracy would explain it nicely. The solution is then also clear. You want cheaper prices too? Pirate more.
