mrcrispy83: Go for gog, steam prices will probably be matched or lower during the winter sale.
avatar
Pheace: That's really not the way it is with sales at all on GOG.
It's likely he was comparing the steam autmn sale vs the steam winter sale. The winter one is significantly better, and prices usually match their autmn sale (or beat it).

So, for GOG, getting this deal would be better. For steam games, you can wait for the following sale and probably get equivelent or even better deals on the same games offered in this sale. No promises though.
They usually give the best sale on Christmas. I wouldn't surprise anything really big this time. Especially since for most big sales, they offer the same titles as during the weekends, midweeks or anything.

But maybe I'm wrong. I'm interested only in Spectromancer and Magic The Gathering 2013 + exp anyway.

SimonG: If you check a price tracker you will notice that Skyrims price on Steam was only 30€ for a day in early October.

Nothing fraudulent. Of course, facts hardly matter in some cases

Foxhack: I was referring to the iD Superpack having a much higher price than normal; I thought Skyrim had gone down in price since it was released, but it hasn't, Bethesda's still greedy.
Because keeping it at a price that's still selling big is greed...okay then...
There goes my birthday contest . :(
( did i use the right sentence ? )

SimonG: There are so many regular sales all over the place, that the scheduled sales have nearly lost all appeal.

Especially since Amazon entered the scene, Europeans have nearly always better deals there.

Most of the stuff on my wishlist is TBA. Maybe Dishonored ...
avatar
amok: yes I think so. Games has just gone down so much in price now on digital (except for day 1 sales) so it is easier to get what you want without the grand sales. Can't say it is a bad trend, I seem to spend more on games now then before...
Very true. Too many regular sales everywhere... everyones wallets are more empty than usual. Also can say for sure this year - there is much less chance of me buying anything from a Steam sale this year because ive already got 99% of games ive wanted due to sales elsewhere (Thanks Amazon).
Oh man, not now...! Just when I'm almost broke... sigh (-_-)
Dishonored and Risen 2 sale please.

For Winter I would like Assassin's Creed 3 and Hitman: Absolution sale please.

Kthanx.
Amazon is doing The Walking Dead at 50% off, so I'm guessing that's what Steam will have as well.
Hmm, not much in my DRM wishlist at the moment, considering I even passed yesterday's Spec Ops: The Line offer in Greenmangaming (5€ or so for a Steam key for a pretty new and praised game is not that bad).

I just figured that I wouldn't start playing it in the near future anyway, so better not add it to the DRM backlog. I'm sure I can get it even cheaper in the future, whenever I get the urge to play it. And I don't want to send too many wrong signals towards the publishers that I am ok with their DRM.

But let's see, maybe they offer something I decide to get anyway. If I'm in luck, it may be even *DRM-free*!!!

I do have some leftover money from my last trip, which turned out to be slightly cheaper than expected, but as it was said, not much left to buy anymore. I've pretty much built my online shelf in this last year through all the different sales, and once you get up to speed with the older games there's not so much new to buy. So besides af few capcom games (which weren't on sale last summer) and Hitman absolution (which is obviously too new for a sale), I don't think they'll hit me with anything interesting. Then again, I'll still check. You never know.

Hitman Absolution have been given some bad press, and I understand that the sales figures are not to brilliant. I think it is safe to expect a sale on it for Christmas, may be not a massive one yet, but I think there will be at least a 33% to 50% sale on it by then.

What makes me highly cautious of Hitman Absolution is the Gun DLCs. In a game were you shouldn't use guns in the first place, what is the point of those?

Also, the costumers are not only cosmetic, but also give gameplay benefits, which is something I don't like.

Until I hear some good about this game from people here, I'm putting it on my ignore list.

To be honest, the only good things I have heard makes it bad for a Hitman game.... I think I will skip this one also. As I understand it, the puzzle elements is as good as gone.

To be honest, I haven't even bothered checking any reviews so far so it's good I heard this now. I guess I'll go with my old schedule of pirate (downloading now, in fact), test out, and buy according to feedback. I'll make sure to give you guys some feedback on it.

Its a good game with super dumb story. There are a lot of weapons in every level but I just use garotte and the environment. For me levels are kinda small (they are sectioned). After playing it for a while I really enjoy the gameplay.
