Welcome to the group!
Got about 20 some games to give away, some really good, some meh and some downright bad, but I'm sure you guys will make use of them. Would love an invite as I've been saving them up for you guys!

welcome aboard invite sent
I got another report this evening about amember winning a lot of games but not gifting back...and I just wanted to post my personal philosophy - obviously, the moderators of this group are paying attention but allow me to state my view - it may put a different spin on things for some members, especially for those in wealthier parts of the world where a cheap bundle purchase really isn't a big deal.

Frankly, this group is semi-public and for many members it's a place to easily contribute extra bundle keys in an easy but relatively fair manner - especially to the poorer members of GOG. Personally, I am glad to help out less fortunate members - but that's just me. Not every gog gift club member feels that way. And yeah, bundles are so freaking cheap, you'd think most people could pick up one once in a while - that or sell some cards to gift a cheap game. But OTOH, not everyone in the world has the luxury to be able to purchase enough (even $5 worth of Steam games) to activate the Steam Market. And even one US dollar may constitute a huge portion of another person's income relative to other economies. And lastly, easy access to payment types that many of us take for granted aren't easy elsewhere.

Anyway,my personal philosophy is to not demand a lot of answers that 1) I don't really want to know how bad it is for others ALL the time and 2) for me it's just an easy mechanism to gift games I am never going to play.

So if you have an issue with what may appear to be scammers in this group, you can do a couple of things - 1) report them to LiquidSnake, me and AdamBiser - we keep a watchlist of reports and with enough reports we may take action. 2) Don't gift more than you feel comfortable with - yeah, some members with limited means may win one of your gifts and even the occasional leecher... it's just part of gifting to relative strangers.

Lastly, one of the best things about the GOG forum and this group, is the level of generosity and the desire to have a truly friendly place on the internet that is about something we all collectively love - games. This place attracts gamers from all over the world - many of them from economically challenged corners of the globe - we, who are relatively wealthy can accept and welcome and gift as we each personally feel comfortable with. We, who are less wealthy, can each individually decide to accept or not accept the bounty that is the GOG forum - there are MANY ways to contribute and not all of them include gifting - in fact most of them don't, right?

So that's my message - contribution comes in many forms - let's accept that here in a way that allows everyone to participate - ultimately that is what makes the GOG forum a special place.

Sorry for the late reply.

It looks like you previously asked when you had below 40 rep. According to rule 8, you then needed 55 rep. You have 53 rep now, which is not quite there, so that means 70 is now needed.

Sorry about that.
i would with a heavy heart say that a certain member has been removed from this group. I have done it for the well being of this group and for the safe keeping of our group members.

Just because someone gifts a lot or someone is super active in the group , we should not be treated as A-class citizens , What matters in this group is having a good heart , games come and go, giveaways start and end but your good heart and that selfless commitment to be a good active member and a gifter of the group who respects all kinds of other members is important.

Its easy to have a leecher in the group but a person with different ideals could easily cause chaos and destruction of this group and its ideals and any such members found will be kindly asked to leave this group.

I apologize again if anyone felt bad this was done , i know i did it because i believe this group is something more than just gifting games and winning them.
Ehr, what happened?

Isn't it polite to say which said person is and what the reasons were? If not, why say anything at all?
After discussions with lot of members of the group , it has come to my notice that members are leeching way worse than the group rules allowed. A particular member managed to completely invalidate rule 10 . So it has been modified . This rule change will now apply to all current and new members and will be enforced from oct 1.
Anyone failing to meet this rule will be removed.

Please read the new change as before , It is difficult for us to track all members so i humbly ask the members of the group to report anyone breaking the rules.

Rule #10: You are expected to make a giveaway for the group within 6 months of your joining or after your first 5 wins whichever happens first, Also Frequent winners and older members will be checked for their contributions , if they have found to be just Winning here without a single giveaway for the group for a long time and Inactive in appreciating other giveaways , poor response to their win gifters etc will result in kicks, Please don't get the habit that this group is for leeching where you can be inactive and just enter giveaways.

Rule #11: Warnings are back for the people found to be leeching after their first giveaway[Max conditions next 10 wins:1 giveaway and it increases so on to next 20th win : 1 giveaway, 30th: 1 etc], you will be warned once before being kicked for good. This warning will impose on you to achieve certain condition such as rep, giveaway etc within a certain period, failing it will result in termination. Warnings might be also imposed on reported cases of rule Breaking

Rule #13: has been deleted since we have a new rule of warning system.

I thank all the active members and gifters for actively taking interest for the well being of this group.

you can report cases now to adam, momo and me for consideration now.

To help gifters further more , any warnings issued or bans will be posted here

Feel free to check there, No Warnings and Ban info will be posted here in the invite thread from now on.
