KneeTheCap: It's L4D with objectives.

Profanity: That doesn't sound very fun.
I always thought an Ocean's 11-esque co-op caper game would be pretty fun. Shame Payday doesn't seem to live up to that.

Balazs: How long is From Dust? I've been looking at it for a while and it doesn't look bad.
avatar
orcishgamer: It's not long, you should be able to complete it in under 10 hours easy, probably 6, but you have challenges if you like those to work on, some are really hard.
That doesn't sound too long, since I'm not a huge fan of going for objectives.

What makes the game so awesome for you, by the way? Just asking because I've heard pretty mixed opinions of it.

Can anyone recommend some good old games on sale that are not available on GOG?

Garugo: Probably going to get Space Marine. Can anyone recommend the DLCs? Or at least, which are useful and which are just skins or other cosmetics?
The two expensive DLCs are multiplayer, all DLC is for multiplayer, the cheap stuff is cosmetic.

Just the catharsis of playing it, it's gorgeous. I cannot believe they don't have a PC demo (There was an XBLA one). It is just amazing, and the first time you see a tsunami you will crap yourself. If you liked Populous you will like it, trust me it's a little different and not "hard" in the traditional sense (though you will certainly have to redo some levels), it just rocks.

And I'm on painkillers so I'm having trouble communicating, sorry. For that price, trust me, you're getting the game play out of it.
I'm really tempted by HOARD; I love dragons. However, not fond of quick, real time strategy. *conflicted* Is it good?

It can be fun if you have friends to play with - it probably won't capture your attention for long if you're playing solo.

HOARD is easy, I refer to it as a drunk/smoking weed game. With that said it's fun and no, you won't have any trouble with it.

Thanks for the reply. Hmm, how's the multiplayer? Is it a co-op campaign or more like the DoW2 Arena fight co-op?
Thanks for the quick replies, guys. I usually prefer doing games solo (I hate messing up in front of strangers and prefer to reload when things don't go my way ;) ). I love dragons too much to pass this up. Thanks!

Actually, I just found a demo for it ([link]), so I'll give that a try. Thanks for the help! :>

Yeah, buying a 4 pack for friends might be a good idea, it would be more fun mulitplayer, it's really not much to manage, 3 stats on your dragon and what to hit next.

Dizzard: I actually already started watching these videos yesterday. I started watching his let's play and bought the game on steam today. I'm going to watch more of his let's plays to pick up

AFnord: Just play through the basic tutorials and you will have all you need to know to at least get started. The best way to learn a game like Crusader Kings is to not try to learn everything at once, as you will get overwhelmed. CK2 is a surprisingly accessible game though, it is quite good at explaining its concepts and it is more intuitive than Paradox's earlier titles. That being said, if you want to geek out, there is a lot of depth to the game, it is one of those games that you can spend months with without it growing stale.
I realized today I've become the biggest geek possible with Paradox games when I actually plumped down 8 bucks for the 4 sprite packs for Europa Universalis 3. They don't do a thing to change gameplay at all, but at least now I have "pretty soldiers". LOL.
