Gazoinks: For me, it's more a matter of repetition. I like games with progression, and progression in multiplayer games essentially requires repetition until you get better than everyone else, which I get tired of fairly quickly.
There's that, which is why there are very few multiplayer games I play for long. I did enjoy Wipeout 2048 on the PS Vita, which basically had a multiplayer campaign where you would be set certain tasks. The early levels would require you to simply complete the race - didn't matter if you came last - and it moved up through to objectives like hit another player with a weapon, destroy another player, don't come last, be in the top half of the leaderboard and so on. It works astonishingly well, and achieving an objective even when the other seven racers have handed your ass to you on a plate is still very satisfying.

But in any case, I do get the feeling that I'm surrounded by assholes when I play online.

Cavalieroscuro: L4D imho is a LOT funny than this.

ne_zavarj: I found L4D2 ( and Borderlands ) SP boring , but i enjoy the SP part of Dino D-Day .
Anyone played Iron Grip Warlord ?
Yes. IG Warlord is a mediocre tower defense + FPS hybrid. Sanctum is better in my opinion.

I got Wipeout HD Fury for free when the PSN temporarily exploded, that is a really fun game. I prefer playing multiplayer in split-screen with friends, since then you can actually talk and stuff, it's kind of a different experience. Though playing Wipeout HD on a big screen (we have a projector, so our screen's pretty large) may cause vertigo and seizures for the weak of constitution. XD

And yeah, the asshole problem is why I frequently stop playing League of Legends. I enjoy the game, but I hate playing against other people, so I usually just play bots which gets boring after a while and then I stop playing.

Play Killing Floor. When you're surrounded by assholes, they die with you.

grviper: Next sale it'd be fun if Steam tried a different voting system, the % of votes cast = the discount %. If a game's votes are not over the default sale rate, then no extra discount gets given. I mean, just think of all the flame threads and shit it would rise on the forums ^_^
Hahaha, good idea! :D

Ugh, jerks in KF are even worse. It is a cooperative game! Being a jerk to people is helping no one! Sorry, it's a pet peeve of mine. ;)

The random people I played with even dropped all their dosh before logging off. You must be playing on the overly capitalistic servers ;)

For the most part people tend to be pretty civil (well, except for running around like headless chickens while I try to heal them, but everyone does that), but I've encountered a couple of really annoying types.
Hey, thanks for pointing out Fable Lost Chapters... I would have missed that. Steam are doing a pretty lousy job advertising their own sales this time around.
Worth taking the plunge on Jurassic Park for €7.49, or is it really THAT bad?

Edit: Never mind, just been informed that I can get it on disc for €10 down the road if it's any good.

E.Y.E. on sale again. $1.5 here. Four pack for $4, but I can't buy it, because I already have one copy of the game. *golf clap*

It's not uncommon that when a particular game goes on sale (during the summer/winter deals, anyway), that the rest of its franchise gets a boost as well. Usually they only display the latest one in the franchise.

ne_zavarj: My Steam wishlist :

Brink ( complete if it's possible ) If the SP is enjoyable ( playing against bots )
Payday If the SP is enjoyable ( playing against bots )
Rock of Ages
Iron Grip Warlord If the SP is enjoyable ( playing against bots )
