That's the problem. Everyone thinks it's a black and white issue. It isn't. We use both GOG and supplement what we can't get on GOG with Steam. No big deal.

Also, if you'd read most the first page of replies, you'd know that this topic comes up a LOT, so many of us are actually reacting to HO BOY, ANOTHER STEAM HATE THREAD, than anything else.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts.

To be more clear though, I do care about "draconian" DRM. I did not buy the always online Ubisoft games until they were patched to work offline. I have not bought Diablo 3. I just don't have a problem with Steam and the like, they allow for seamless offline play and offer many features I and other consumers like.

And of course on PC there is no real worry about your games being unplayable down the road because of DRM.

I just think this topic has been belabored every which way from Sunday, argued, re-argued, then beaten to death. >.<

But has it jumped the shark yet? Cause, I'm curious as to witnessing a forum argument being launched over a shark... :D

Honestly, I have to agree with StingingVelvet (Although I have the admission that I gave into pressure from my friends to get Diablo 3....still kinda regret it though).

If I wanted to play online I would have bought it, but as a singleplayer only dude I could not accept the online requirement and it's downsides.

Obviously I was in the minority though, since it is the best selling PC game ever.

I completely agree, the always on requirement makes it horrible for singleplayer, and I still don't completely understand why (There HAS to have been a way to not need that...but that's on Blizzard, not on my feeble attempts to make everyone happy).

It as the best selling PC game...saddens me. It was alright, I feel like Torchlight 2 was better, but that's for another topic.

Funniest thing about that whole fiasco for me, was that I lined up that night at Gamestop for the midnight release...of Max Payne 3. Bought the special edition that came with the statue and everything, and the whole time there was this rift between all those neckbearded dorks (not literally all of them, but one guy looked straight-up pedo) and myself. I was one of two people there for Max Payne, everyone else wanted Diablo, all twenty some-odd of them. So when I asked if I could see the box early, I liked it, said it was classy and all that jazz. Then the dude picked up the Diablo 3 CE box and said, "BUT LOOK AT THIS" and everyone erupted. Now you may be asking yourself, what is the moral of this story? Don't make fun of the guy whose game worked the night he got it, because yours might not. ;)

That store reaction, before any of them ever played it, is why sequels are common.

Where did he pass off his opinions as fact? By not adding "imo"?. It seems obvious to me that he understands that not everybody will/should like it. He was responding to a post that said "I've basically come to the conclusion that people are not defending Steam because it is any kind of good service, they are defending it because they are scared to death that Steam dying will mean the end of PC gaming" and he posted that he thought it was a good service and he gave his reasons why.

He declared that everyone should deal with it. He didn't just say he thought it was a good service on a personal level, he said that on a universal level.

He is one blatant obvious troll. He insults me first, then claims I'm the one insulting him.
