carnival73: Not saying that is just but it goes to show how anal retentive Steam is especially when years later Steam support won't lift the ban slapped on me by a spoiled thirteen year old moderator.

I've tried taking it up with support
They told me that fixing Skyrim is an in-exusable offense - lol

This ain't support. This is a third party. And binding.

This bit it what they are enforcing

However, this Section does not apply to the following types of claims or disputes, which you or Valve may bring in any court with jurisdiction: (i) claims of infringement or other misuse of intellectual property rights, including such claims seeking injunctive relief; and (ii) claims related to or arising from any alleged unauthorized use, piracy or theft.

Suggesting that mention of NoCD in the forums is encouraging piracy

In other words, in any given board if some suggests that Steam Client is preventing a game to run and you reply only with

'NoCD'

They can perma-ban you from using the boards

I"ve also slowed down on forum use a lot
I've seen too many times where access to public boards make it easy for people to go blabbering their ideas in public, get mocked for those ideas, and then turn around three months later to discover someone else has put those ideas into action and made $ for them.

I'm going to start authoring books like everyone else - this way rather people appreciate or thumb their nose at what I share I'll still be making $.

carnival73: Mentioning this in Steam main board is what got me banned from those boards eternally
...the fact that running Skyrim with NoCD fixed some huge issues Steam gamers were having at the time with the game.
Not saying that is just but it goes to show how anal retentive Steam is especially when years later Steam support won't lift the ban slapped on me by a spoiled thirteen year old moderator.

Have had tons of interesting ideas for features that Steam could add or things they could easily fix but have to go through the hassle of logging in with my partner's account to post the ideas so just keeping notes for the next big digital provider
This thread isn't about using NoCD fixes, or steam cracks or anything.

This thread is a list of games on Steam that don't require the client or any cracks or fixes to run.

Just a clearification. This thread is not about NoCD cracks. It's just a list about games which can be played without steam and without applying nocd cracks. Posting of links to nocd cracks even here on GOG is not a thing that mods will treat lightly even though everybody knows how to find them. But if you actually only posted the list from the OP you won't find any nocd crack in it and therefore you have not donme anything against the so called "Steam User Agreement".

And I noticed much too late that this already was mentioned by hummer010 (note to myself: first read the thread until the en THEN post your reply ;)).

Hard To Be A God

According to the devs

"Sphinx and the Curse of the Mummy" does not need any steam and is identical to the GOG version.

Please tell me how you've gotten this to work. I've tested the Steam version of Sonic CD before and tested it again just now and it has always specified "Steam client is not running." for me.
Really? I can't run it without Steam and I have tried all the usual workarounds.

Same here. I'd appreciate a drm-free version of the new port but alas, only the original 95/96 version works that way so far.

We are like the Lemmings here. Somebody is saying this game is DRM frtee and everybody is jumping on it to test it ... just to return back here moments later. But mistakes can happen we are all human after all ... or feline ... whatever. So now we know that Sonic CD is not DRM-free yet but Yomi is :D
