I would like to know if you buy Divinity Original Sin do you need to have Steam Account and Installed?

only if you buy it on steam. buy it from GOG and no. GOG is completely seperate from steam, thank fuck

That's kind of the point behind GOG: there is no DRM, and consequently no Steam. As with all games here you will get an installer that you download from your account page and install. The installer has no copy-protection, so you can back it up if you want to.

There are some games though that might require a CD key for playing online, but still no forced client. Unreal Tournament 2004 comes to my mind.

I almost forgot that game, they haven't upadet it in times, so do I have a romance with myself?

Sounds pretty awkward other than my dragon knight saga thing. ^^

OT but it just occurred to me that if the OP had left the word 'Divinity' out of the thread title, we could have taken our distrust of DRM and Steam to entirely new biblical proportions. XD
