Looks like engine has potential, but no gameplay was shown.

They are all mighty and impressive in the film, but, in "reality" (i mean in a "real" online multiplayer combat where players really try to take each others down), do AT-AT even remotely present any form of danger/efficiency/usefulness ?

I am more focusing that they brought back "Hero Units" from Star Wars Battefront II.

I hope they make them control and play better. Always thought they were a bit finicky and a bit too fragile they can die in a few shots.

Having played "Battlefront I and II" with friends, the answer is an absolute YES!
Even LAATs in the right hands where also wave turning assets.

Playing with strangers..........who knows?!

first dlc is free, so it's a good start.

Really ? That is interesting as a "practical test", isn't their angle of fire and their mobility (especially turning rate) too limited ?

Yes, indeed. That´s why you don´t send them alone against the world. We used to have a detachment of blaster troopers defending it from any stray opportunist.
The real danger were the A-Wings, though they only are in the hands of capable pilots, since it takes some skill to tie the AT-AT legs while avoiding flak.

Usually the objectives are far away (Hoth) so the low angle is not a problem since it´s used for long range mostly, close quarters are dealt by defending troops or a "lucky" AT-AT blaster hit (unlucky A-Wing).

It was supposedly using the ingame engine. But I'll believe that when I see an actual person playing it and not some PR fuck.

You saw a PR having an intercourse?! Instead of watching the gameplay?!
Are you sure it wasn´t "Star Wars XXX" :P
I was so hyped but the hype died on me when they announced that there will not be space battles and few maps on release, this game is going to have a lot of DLC's, where all things left out will be added (raising the total price to $100 or more).
They also confirmed that there will be no Battlelog or web based launcher.
