Hey all. Here to let you know about a few games being removed from our catalog:

Star Control: The Ur-Quan Masters and Star Control: The Kessari Quadrant – effective today 1PM UTC
Both Stardock and Fred Ford and Paul Reiche III have requested that GOG remove Star Control: The Ur-Quan Masters and Star Control: The Kessari Quadrant from the GOG catalog. GOG has done so as a courtesy to Stardock and Ford and Reiche without waiver of any of our rights.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 – effective Monday, May 7, 10 AM UTC
Due to expiring licensing rights, we were asked to remove the product from our catalog for the time being. We'll be in talks with new distribution rights holders to hopefully bring the game back as soon as possible.

Thanks for your understanding, and a lovely weekend to you all!

Thank you for informing us.The Star Control removal was swift sadly but at least we have time to get RT 3 before it vanishes :/.Cheers
Last time Star Control series came back, GOG said nothing about it.
Many people do not know that they can buy Star Control series, and this announcement appear now, just after they remove those games again.

GOG have very very poor communication with their customers.

Isn't it weird that Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 is being removed due to expiring licences? As far as i know only Atari has the full distribution rights to this series and the games are here because of Atari.Since when was RT 3 a licenced product? This is really confusing. If somebody knows this a bit better, please enlighten us ;).Cheers

Which Atari? I think currently we're on the 5th incarnation of the ghost of Atari.

Oh no! Couldn't there have been a bit of a tip-off much earlier?

a bit hasty time window for star control, there is usually a bit of time to back up but this has a hint of drama llama to it

Unfortunately not this time around, we try to give you heads up as early as humanly possible. Just an FYI - this does not mean the games will be removed from your collections – so no need to rush with backups, the games stay in your library. :)

Yeah. For instance Valve is quite on the other planet, they even send someone always to my doorstep to inform me personally that they are going to remove some game from the Steam store in the future, and also if some removed game ever comes back. /sarcasm

You start sounding like SimonG (rip) with your constant bitching about GOG.

Can't you guys/girls make a service that, if a game gets removed, that split second before that happens an order is been made if you don't have the title yet in your library? :-P I missed Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth for example. :(
