Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Ok... old geezer here. But are these steam or gog keys? And where do I enter them in gog?

moochorama: Does anyone know if there are limits on paypal transactions? I've been buying 1.. or 2.. or 7 games I didn't plan on buying, and now I'm worried that paypal will get suspicious about my purchases in the past 2 days. If it doesn't work when Don't Starve comes up I'm going to cry!
Happened to me already my bank put a stop on my card until i answered a email lol.

mrking58: yes, the game you wanted
avatar
mm3n: May you miss the game YOU wanted for the bad joke. >.>
It wasn't a joke. The game you wanted was between those two games.

BTW GOG is now removing the game from their site and the developers have now removed the game from everyone's account plus they have now removed it from Steam and every other site you use. Also all the cd copies of the game have now been burned so you can use them. Even the illegal site the game has disappeared. So now there is no way of getting it. Good luck
TL is an amazing game. If it hadn't been given away and sold for next to nothing so many times this year, then it would have sold out in a heartbeat.

plan99: Thanks for TL
Hope you like it, I sort of hated it :)

Knofbath: If they get you, they'll get a lot of us. I'm up to 10 transactions, and there are probably people with more.
I'm at 12 or 13 right now. I started buying all the things on wednesday though.
I got forced out for a little bit, glad to see Ultima 7 and Privateer are still in the "not yet up" list.
Haven't played Torchlight 2, so I can only speak for the first game on its own merits, but I'd highly recommend it to anyone who likes Diablo-style games! I had SO much fun playing this game and kept going for many hours after beating the main storyline until I burnt myself out on it. It is a little boring that there's only one town, but anybody who likes randomly generated dungeons and the constant search for cool equipment upgrades will have fun with this one.
avatar
itchy01ca01: How is it compared to Torchlight 2?
avatar
N0w3gg: 1st torchlight is closer to Diablo 2, as in there arn't any charge systems. Also, only 3 classes, but a decent amount of customization. The underlying gameplay is solid enough to make the game great, despite a story that's easy to ignore. Ability to send pet to town to sell any and all loot you don't want is awesome.
There are many mods that among other things add more classes, better textures etc. Just FYI.

At most they will ask you to send them copies of your ID and proof of address. They do this randomly if you are new and start using it too much. But they want the business so are not too picky.

jamotide: Never understood the hype either, to me it was just the average shooter.

Cardian: Then you were doing it wrong.
Probably did, don't really like action games.

ahab: It is good but it's not the be all and end all and it had some problems
avatar
Shendue: Every single game ever done has problems. There's no such thing as a perfect game.
I love how people nowadays mark Deus Ex as faulty because of enemy AI and then praise games like The Last of Us with an AI that's way worse. You say it's seen through nostaglia glasses, i say you are looking it through a big pair of snobish hipster glasses. Everyone is entitled to his opinion, i guess.
And I say your following the crowd with no independent thought like a good little sheep
So glad I happened to check GoG right when the Torchlight giveaway went on, cause I'd already bought it directly at Runic yet still kinda wanted to have it on the GoG shelf.

If you don't have it, consider getting it now, it's really good.

shadowbaneaxe: HoMM 3 went remarkably slow last time I saw it. Everyone who knows about it and likes TBS games has it already, I think.
avatar
GabiMoro: Yeah? I missed Heroes 3 second sale.
Sorry to hear :/

If you're patient and have the time, it shouldn't be too hard to grab a copy. Just don't go AFK for more than 10 minutes unless a really slow selling game is up.
