TheEnigmaticT: Yeah, the average pledge was something like $72.50. Crazy high average for a gaming product.
avatar
orcishgamer: Actually, it closed with an average of 167 USD (and change) per pledge. So it was even crazier than you thought:)
Ah. I guess I'm remembering the numbers I pulled before it closed. Utter madness, really. :P

Yeah, even moreso when you consider they asked for 20,000 USD and got 923,680 USD...

Oh, yeah. I know about that one. It's a fantastic example of how setting stretch goals--and then setting even higher ones--works on KS. Like I said: a fascinating look at incentivizing backers to give. And, I think, the most overfunded KS to date?
Allright, I chipped in. Not with a lot, but Tex deserves most of my money right now. Also the new Audi I'm buying.

It looks like that. I first thought it could have been Pebble, the e-ink Android/iPhone link watch, but Ogre seems to be higher. For Pebble it was 149 dollars vs. Ogre's 168 dollars.
Just a little bump.
Tried the old Space Quest games recently and didn't find them funny or well designed. Sorry.
It seems this will be tantalizingly close. About a grand per hour close.

Do you feel the same way about all the old sierra games, or do you think its something peculiar to Space Quest?

Same here, didn't like anything Sierra though.

Not even Quest for Glory or Gabriel Knight? I can't stand most of the Sierra games, but those two series are among the best adventure games ever made, IMO.

I agree about Space Quest, though. Unfunny and cruelly designed is just too much.

I liked King's Quest VI and Police Quest IV... didn't like most of the rest. I was a bug Lucasarts fan though.

Pretty interesting you liked PQ IV, as it is usually considered to be worst of the series. You should give Gabriel Knight 1 a go, it really is among the best games Sierra has done. Well written and very atmospheric.

Well I liked it when I played it and I was like 14 years old or so. I dunno. I think my appreciation for any point and click game is nostalgia based, I generally hate all the ones I play for the first time now-a-days.

Well, Gemini Rue and Machinarium were okay.
$14,000 to go with 22 hours left!
