People fail to recognize that "give monies to unlock" is nothing different than "give monies to receive awesome starting items in New Vegas". It's just paid cheats, that's all.

So appearently anything above $0.99 is wrong, yeah wait until Consoles and PC gaming "Dies" than Prices for games on phones will rise up.

One thing I know for sure is I won't be getting Dead Space 3 at launch. I'll wait the 2-3 months for it to be discounted someplace to $10

If it's anything like the system used for ME3 it's highly unlikely to have any significant impact on gameplay. I assume the game will have several difficulty levels anyway, so why would it matter?

And I just know has been brought to my attention that the FF XIII-2 ending was a "to be continued", where the "continued" part was in DLC. The fuck. Mobile game for retards is one thing, the actual main saga is another entirely.

I know this is sidetracking, and that the outcry probably died months ago, but I just now learned about it and I'm horrified.

I always found this kind of practices to be king of "douchy" but as long as it's possible to obtain the same stuff from inside the game without grinding for hours and as long as they don't call that a "community feature" and forces the game to be always online then I can live with it.

Concerning DS3 I am more worried about the game itself, the gameplay video/feedback from the Demo didn't really do anything to lower my fears of the game having been too "action-ized".

Then again maybe it's only because it was the demo and they wanted to "show off" a little for non fan of the series.

While I completely agree with this, the point I'm trying to make is that there's currently no reason to think this will be the case. AC3 was multiplayer, dunno if ME3 was, but BL2 and Forza (I'm pretty sure) were not.

Other non-AAA games have had this in single player as well, e.g. Shoot Many Robots and Crimson Alliance.

Ubisoft and EA have been saying this has been coming for over 2 years now. EA, all in all, has been pretty cautious with it's F2P stuff, even castigating other companies for offering shit implementations.
In what way did I give a price cut-off? I merely foretasted what the price would probably be based on other, recent games.

Only Squeenix has so far been douchey with pricing on mobile, unless you count the Baldur's Gate remake bullshit, and even then the douchey pricing was far more oriented towards the PC crowd.

And if PC gaming dies, it sure as fuck won't be from this, it'll be from people saying "I'll wait for the Steam 75% off sale" too often.

Bordering on the point where I don't want to support this game. Looking forward to reviews explaining how much this stuff matters.

I still believe this game is going to be more well received thus people raging against the reivewers for hypocrisy:

Dead Space 3's PC port will not have DirectX 11 support or HD textures, according to reports, to which developer Visceral Games says, so what?

"We continue to evolve our games as we develop them, but we certainly don't target PC as something that's going to be significantly different," executive producer Steve Papoutsis said in an interview with Shack News. "We aren't trying to create disparity in the experience that our gamers enjoy; we want to make sure everyone's having that same experience."

In the interview, Papoutsis takes a very literal stance on consistency across platforms. Where as platform owners think of consistency as "the best my platform can offer," Papoutsis interprets it as "an identical experience across platforms, even if that means one performing below its potential" (my words, not his).

Remember when EA said Dead Space 2 wouldn't receive DLC on PC (so much for consistency), and how they changed their tune after PC owners spoke up? Make some noise and maybe EA and Visceral will give Dead Space 3 all the perks expected of PC ports in a post-Sleeping Dogs and Max Payne 3 world.

"The fact that we're allowing you to control the game with a mouse and keyboard immediately makes the game feel different," Papoutsis said, adding "We seem a little bit discredited for the amount of effort that goes into it, quite honestly."

Any chance of me ever buying this game just flew out the goddamn window. LOL

So I just played the XBox 360 demo, resources drop left and right and I doubt you're going to be compelled to buy any resources from the store unless you truly abhor replaying levels for resources (which you had to do for credits for all the upgrades, by all accounts, in previous games).

I'm also not a huge Dead Space fan, but it didn't seem any more or less "scary" than any of the other ones.

So as usual, it seems gamers are just being shrill and annoying on this one. With that said, the game could still turn out bad, but there seems to be no reason at this point to expect it to be bad.
All I just read was "boo-hoo we don't get a hi-rez, PC only texture pack!"

That's the norm, games like Max Payne 3 are still the exception.

Mouse and keyboard support already implies rebalancing the enemy AI and possibly other stuff, it's not just a big, "well duh!" like you're making it out to be.


EDIT: You know what, I am not fucking done yet. I am pretty sick of the gamer hypocrisy, too many bitch, whine and moan about the budget it takes to develop new games, about the insane profit sometimes needed to make money, and about the price tag of games and DLC. They THEN turn around and fucking bitch that their favorite platform isn't gonna get some special snowflake god damned treatment which costs more to test, develop, etc. If you're one of those people, please have an epiphany and FUCKING CHOOSE ONE, you don't get both!

Get the console gamers used to being charged like the Free-to-Play MMO players with an "optional" mechanic. Then the next game goes a little bit further with it. Then a little more. It's playing the long game here, but fortunately for them, most gamers can't see past immediate gratification. *shrug*

ME3's random loot packs were for multiplayer. But I can't recall if the guns past level 5 were available for use in single player. They were also buyable with credits earned from playing multiplayer.
