I know that using PayPal causes you to take a small hit in fees, but as much as I would rather avoid that by using a credit card straight up, when I do that, I get hit with "International Service" fees. (I'm guessing because I'm in the US while you are in... Canada? Or is it where your payment processor is located... I'm not really sure...)
Anyhow, using PayPal keeps those fees from getting charged, but you take a fee hit there. Maybe you want to look into a way to keep that from happening?
I use a credit card and I don't get hit with international fees. Your bank is suspect in this case. Also, all the prices are in US currency and IIRC GOG has a server in Texas...so where are the international fees again??
Change your bank or card type.
I buy from Romania and I have no extra fees whatsoever.
I use my credit card straight up, dont have a problem with it
I also live in the US and have no problem with international fees.
Wow this is good news. Or bad. Hmm, lol.
I will certainly be checking out what's causing that to happen. One note, I'm using a debit card from an actual bank, not a credit card... but I still don't see why that would cause fees to arise.
Anyone have any clues, beforehand? (My PayPal payment does show GoG as having a non-US phone number... is it a case of GoG's payment processor not being in the US? Or GoG themselves?)
Argh, confused and slightly annoyed. Will check in on the thread in the morning though.
Thanks again all =)

I'm using a visa debit card for paypal stuff and that doesn't attract international fees but I DO get them when I order DVDs from the UK Amazon.
GOG will pay fees regardless of how they process your order. If they aren't paying PayPal, they are paying the provider of the credit card authentication system. So, you really need not worry about it.
I actually use a debit card as well, so that isn't the issue.

Interesting, I'm using a Visa debit card as well. So thusfar it's looking like it's my bank specifically. Then again, I don't think they'd be doing it for no reason at all, so there's something up with GOG's side too. But I guess that is currently to-be-verified...

Yep I knew that, but in my case one choice costs me more, and the other costs GOG more. And I chose myself over GOG, thus the apology, hehe.

Same here, except I don't buy from Amazon (they rip me off with shipping)

I am as well. Almost coming up on 3:30 AM here. BTW I use a Mastercard debit card.

Even WITH fariy high shipping, its cheaper to buy DVDs from them than get them in australia
Buying games on GOG from Italy is a snap.... I currently use a credit (not debit, I'm not a dick :-P) card (whose name is "PostePay") where I transfer the money needed from my postal account. Anyway no additional fees on the games price. Dunno where the server is located when I purchase from here....
lets just blame the internet merchant lol
