CharlesGrey: By the way, what about Metal Gear Solid V -- does it come loaded with any DRM, aside from Steam?

DaCostaBR: Denuvo, yeah.
Thanks for the warning. That's one game I can ignore then, at least for now. :/

Also, what's up with AAA publishers and their ridiculous DLC tactics? I checked out the Steam store pages for MGSV and its teaser/prequel, and it comes with about a dozen silly DLC items, like alternate outfits. It's such a cluttered mess. But more importantly: They sell a package containing the games and all the DLC... at the same price as the base game. Why even bother offering all those separate items, when the only logical and cost efficient way to purchase the game is buying the complete edition?

Probably because the DVD version, the one you can buy in brick and mortar stores, is the base game. So if you unfortunately bought the retail version, or the launch version, and you really like the game, just buying the DLC is overall more cost effective, than rebuying the complete edition just for the DLC.

That doesn't excuse the DLC style monetization, but considering that ever since I switched to digital purchases I've got all of my games at discount prices, I have no problem with publishers skinning their fanboys. I'm patient.

Most of the DLC items become obsolete once you can buy the complete versions.

nicohvc: a must play! lovely gore...nice ost ! Doomvania!
How about SMTvania? Atlus, in order to promote their newest 3DS game (a remake of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey), made, and released, a free (zero cost) metroidvania starring Jack Frost called SMT: Synchronicity Prologue.

I haven't tried playing it myself (does it run on WINE?), but I have watched speedruns of it, and it certainly looks like fun.

it's cool ! I've replied you via PM.

The gama has potential. I'm currently at other games but I would like to give more time to Synchronicity prologue in the near future.
