CharlesGrey: Also, what's up with AAA publishers and their ridiculous DLC tactics? I checked out the Steam store pages for MGSV and its teaser/prequel, and it comes with about a dozen silly DLC items, like alternate outfits. It's such a cluttered mess. But more importantly: They sell a package containing the games and all the DLC... at the same price as the base game. Why even bother offering all those separate items, when the only logical and cost efficient way to purchase the game is buying the complete edition?
Probably because the DVD version, the one you can buy in brick and mortar stores, is the base game. So if you unfortunately bought the retail version, or the launch version, and you really like the game, just buying the DLC is overall more cost effective, than rebuying the complete edition just for the DLC.
That doesn't excuse the DLC style monetization, but considering that ever since I switched to digital purchases I've got all of my games at discount prices, I have no problem with publishers skinning their fanboys. I'm patient.
Most of the DLC items become obsolete once you can buy the complete versions.
