We need to get off the whole married single thing or I'm going to slit my wrist, so how about 1st game? I don't mind feeling old, I'm actually cool with that! Alone is something else. :-)

By 1st game, I mean purchased, not played as in you were at an arcade or a friends house.
Mine was "Aztec" a real gem for the Apple\\ especially with it's inspiration (the Indiana Jones movies) still being big business when the game came out.
I'm 23. Going to be married in 2 months. My fiancee is a gamer, but not a particularly avid one. She likes Halo and likes dicking around in Saint's Row 3. Sometimes we play some Minecraft together. First game I purchased for myself was Chasm: The Rift. First game ever purchased for me was probably some educational adventure title. Maybe Math Blaster. Loved that game when I was little :D

You're not alone in this, mate. We're closer than you might think. Just ignore the off-topic comments, concentrate on the age thing and cheer up. ;)

Hm, I can't remember which was the first game I ever bought. Could have been Voodoo Kid from the bargain bin, but I'm not sure. And I don't know if this actually reveals anything, I guess it says just as much or little about my age as about my stinginess, budget and me always being way behind the times, lol.

Sorry, I'm not THAT depressed. It's really the only thing that bothers me though and I've had cancer for fucks sake. Funny how the mind works. :P Appreciate the kind words though. :D
Recently turned 23.

Why did this thread turn into a relationship status updater? I'm usually pro threads-turn-off-topic when it turns to weird, surprising topics but relationship status? Wow..

Sorry tinyE and Nirth, that's my fault. I included my marital status in my first comment. My 1st game I bought? Hmm. I'd probably have to say Star Wars: Dark Forces or Star Wars: X-Wing vs Tie Fighter. I didn't really buy a lot of games in my youth cause I never had money really. All we had to play on was a computer, so I didn't get into console games until MUCH later.

The 1st game ever played is quite a good idea though.

25 here.
28 and single.
We really should start using more surveys with questions like these otherwise people just mention random numbers and then the thread dies unless it goes off topic. :P

Sounds interesting. "Pitfall" is running through my mind, that was a nice platformer game.

The first game I purchased was kind of late. Since I started playing on a PC with the age of 8 (at the end of 1990, so I'm 30 now), all the games were either delivered with the PC or traded with other boys of my age in school. I played almost all the good games from the 90ies and some of the 80ies like Battlechess or SimCity.

Indeed I always had enough games, and since I didn't have much pocket-money I never intended to buy a game by myself. But in 1999 there was a big game collection (Gold Games 3 and Play The Games) for just 120 Mark (around 65 Euro or now 85$) containing about 50 games. I couldn't resist, bought it and had fun for years! In addition I bought MDK for 20 Mark and also enjoyed this (but only later when there was a patch for quick-saving available).

I still play Pitfall, 1 and 2. I picked them up with a nice Activision Anthology CD rom I bought a couple of years ago.

You should seek out a woman if you are lonely. There is someone out there who is lonely too you know.

No excuses. Where there is a will, there is a way.

No local bar? No women banging on your door? Okay, hit up match.com or similar and go on some dates. There is plenty of fish in the sea but you'll probably have to deal with tossing a few back on the way to finding Miss Right.

As for me, 54 and divorced a decade ago. Sometimes I think it is too late for me now. Sometimes I don't care and enjoy the peace and freedom. Other times I think I might be willing to trade those things off for companionship. For now, I am doing zero about it though... coasting along is working for me for the time being. Maybe after I've cleared more of the backlog. We'll see.

XD don't worry about it! It's your thread and you have as much right as anyone to post and or ask whatever you want. I'm happy for you that you found a fellow gamer to share your life with, that is too cool! If I ever do find myself a GF I'm going to have to keep her away from here because she will see my Postal, Blood, Carmageddon collection and run like hell. :P

My ex-wife loved Carmageddon. She wasn't much for games other than simple puzzle games but she just loved running people over.

I'm sure there is someone who would find your penchant for mindless violence endearing. You just need to start looking for her. She isn't going to fall out of the sky on her own.
