Well, seeing as how GOG support refuses to even acknowledge my question... i'm going to just assume it's either too much of a hassle or too expensive to reclassify a game.

So... does anyone know if a game is automatically marked bought regardless of region once you buy it? Or is it possible to rebuy while set to a different region to 'overwrite' your previous purchase?

Once again it's the principle of the thing, I hate knowing the version of the Witcher 2 that I paid for, the copy that sits on my shelf, is inferior to the version everyone else has.

In the meantime though, there's always this

I don't know for sure but I think Bigs rocks - and actually beat out JMich in the technical question answered category for this particular issue. ;-)
I just hope some of the links there are still up... but if not someone should be able to help out by re-posting it. I'd do it myself but I don't currently have Witcher 2 downloaded and/or installed
Thanks Bigs, but I'm well aware of the uncensor patch and yes the mediafire links still work. My problem is having to use it in the first place, knowing the game I paid the same as everyone else for has to be fan-patched after install.

Just want to know if I'll ever have a pure copy like everyone else...

As far as that goes - that depends on Namco Bandai, as the publisher, re-submitting it for classification - which has a fair price tag associated with it... can't remember how much exactly...

And I got my copy from GOG while the GEO-IP wasn't being enforced - I was "living" in the US at the time... :P

Actually I tell a lie - it was gifted to me... going senile at my old age... ><

I got my copy before Geo-IP aswell, at full launch price, and then got shafted when EE was released...
how does one know what version of TW2 one has? I added TW2 by inputting cd code which came with my retail version purchased in poland.
i did it in australia tough.

is it censored or not?
Witcher 2 being rated R18?! It barely deserves a 15+ rating, holy shit I hate my country, bunch of moralist turds.

ReynardFox: Can I please have my copy of The Witcher 2 replaced with the real version?

tinyE: Depends. You aren't the Aussie who is suing Subway are you?
I thought it was American's who sued for everything under the sun? ;)

Whatever region your profile was set to when you bought the game in is the region your copy stays in, regardless of your location.

It's also only the Australian version that got censored, if you have my crap edition it'll show an (AU) after the title when looking at the game content on your shelf.

Yeah you're safe, if you bought the polish version, the only way you could have ended up with the censored version on GOG is if you actively changed your GOG region to Australian before using your code.

i did that. I bought retail version and you could have redeemed the cd key here on gog for free version of tw2 on gog. which i did.
when my region was set to australia.

Hm, I guess maybe the code itself was tied to the region the game was bought in.
