The year is 2045. In the last 30 years, the number of satellite channels has grown to the point that budgets have been slashed to the bone. As a result, modern "reality" shows are now mostly "pay-to-play". Such as this one, "Murder They Wrote", an annual series "loosely" based on mystery novels. This year's season is titled "[Insert number here] Little Soldiers" and is hosted by a professional impersonator named Bagatha Chrustie. For the past few seasons, Murder They Wrote has come under fire for their poor vetting process. Thieves, rapists and murderers have infiltrated the show in past seasons. Some have even accused the producers of recruiting such criminals for the entertainment value.

The story takes place in an old mansion on an abandoned island. You have all brought your $10,000 entry fee with you. Those who survive a week without asking to go home or being booted off by the daily majority vote of the other contestants, will split the proceeds...assuming no criminals have snuck into the process and you find yourself dead...which has happened all too frequently in the last couple years...

The crunchy bits:
I'll accommodate any number of players. I'm not worried so much about alternates. Something happens and if there are no ready alternates, then your player is so frightened, they leave the island.

"Day" deadlines will be 5 days and end at midnight Eastern US time (UTC -05:00) although deadlines that fall on a weekend will be pushed to Monday. "Nights" will be 2 days and also extend to Monday if necessary. Players are expected to make at least one post every weekday. Multiple failures to comply may result in "consequences" unless some forewarning (and good reason) is given. These same "consequences" will also be applied by our "edit elves". Of course, multiple offenses may result in replacement or removal...

That "Players are expected to make at least one post every weekday" is pretty strict, especially if the "Sorry, been busy, will post something meaningful later/ tomorrow" posts won't cut it, but it should keep the game from stagnating; yogsloth should be thrilled.

But the setup sounds interesting, so why not?

A new one already? :D
I'm itching to say "I'm in" but I don't dare, since I do have almost no free time this month and I can't say I'd be able to post something valuable each day (or at all, for that matter I probably wouldn't survive day one anyway ;)
But alas next game I really want to join up but this time better not yet, maybe I'll be allowed to watch from the sideline again as observer?

mchack: ....and I can't say I'd be able to post something valuable each day....
Please observe as I post nothing valuable each day.

I'm in.
I'm in!

And I'll make plenty of unvaluable contributions, I'm sure.

That's Flub's secret, he says he's town and technically he is even when he's scum since they are really just anti-town. He just never says what kind of town he is ;-)
I'd like to be an observer this time around.

Well, he was the first ever Town Arsonist...
