It seems like they've already completed a fair bit of the game. Also just look at that pixel-art and sprites.
Could be good.

What i dont get is this thing about going backwards with design. Just because the game looks like it comes from the classic era of gaming doesnt mean that it is or that it will even be any good.

I can also see it putting a lot of the younger generation off the game when they look at it and see that it looks dated compared to what they are used to.

How do you mean? The graphics are actually quite good for an indie studio.
Sounds and looks interesting. Hope it gets funded.

Lack of resources? They should but put their energy into the game mechanics and writing, not graphics. Keeping it simple but with its own style is good for indie studios.

I must say I really like the art style and looks like a good game. I'll keep an eye on this one.
The actual sprite-work is great I think, just seeing how the characters walk reminds me of Baldur's Gate. I also love the large overhead RTS-style map.

This looks awesome. Reminds me that I need to try to get organized and figure out how Darklands works. I remember being disoriented and lost as to what was going on.
Looks really really good.
Hopefully it gets funded (at 10k it should really be)

Sadly, I'm jobless so I can't help fund it.
I'll just get it upon release.

Same here. One of these days I'll put some effort into getting it to work and learn the game.
Yay - DRM-free.
Looks like an interesting game, and when I asked the makers how they feel about DRM they had this to say:

"We'll definitely be selling the game through a game-network upon release, and we're looking into GOG first and foremost (once/if) the funding is met. If that doesn't work we'll distribute through something like Desura. We'll absolutely do everything we can to be DRM free, that's a model we firmly believe in for the pc-gaming community.

We're firm believers that GOG is doing things right and are going to do everything we can to get Serpent in the Staglands on their site."

They will be getting some of my money.
I like the aesthetic. It's clearly much closer to Baldur's Gate thematically than Darklands. Overall looks pretty good.
Count me in as someone put off by the graphics. It's not hard to make graphics clean instead of blurry or pixelated. That look is just nostalgia run amok.
Reservations about most Kickstarter games these days aside, this one looks pretty safe for me to throw some money at, kind of like FTL back in the day. I like how they have some gameplay to show already. Looks great to me. I also like when projects don't think they can deliver a boxed game with their smaller budget, they just don't offer it yet.
Looks sweet - but then I'm a great fan of the Spiderweb Software games, so it's an easy match. I've backed this one.
