Gede: Battle Toads! Wow! I'm impressed! You really don't shy away from toughies!
Were you an avid gamer on your youth?

Also, I stopped playing FF VII a long time ago. The last part I remember was some sort of RTS protecting some eggs on a mountain. Do you have any idea how far along was I? It sure was a long game. I'll have to restart it if I ever play it again.
It sounds like the Fort Condor tower defence mini game. There are two occasions in the storyline in which you get to play that: once just before you get to Junon to the first time, soon after leaving Midgar; and secondly when Cid takes over the leadership at a fairly late stage of the game. In either case you can avoid the whole thing by just letting the enemy get to the top and then fighting the boss encounter (which shouldn't be too hard). The first time around you can skip Fort Condor altogether, if you feel like it.

Yeah I was a massive gamer as a kid, although I wasn't particularly great at it, or at least I didn't think I was. I'm 31 now, I think I was around 10 when I got my own SNES and played that tonssss but I started gaming when I was 5-6 because my older brother had an NES so I had no choice but to play lots of insanely hard games which was pretty frustrating cos so many of them I just couldnt get anywhere with.

I must have had the patience of a saint as a kid cos I'd keep playing these games over and over even tho I was getting absolutely no where. Nowadays I'm usually very quick to give up on a game if it's stupidly hard.

FF7 is a fantastic game with a really brilliant story full of twists and turns, although I am a bit biased cos it's my favourite game ever. It's hard to say where you were because that RTS game you were doing is an optional quest that you can do semi early or really late, but you'd have to be a solid like 10 hours into the game to be able to start it. I actually found that little optional quest quite boring/slow so usually skip it.

Speaking of FF7, I've just uploaded a new episode. I'd advise against watching these videos though to be honest if you dont want the story ruining.

Sounds about correct. I have no idea what Junnon is. I was on the plane, acting as a boat, and I had no idea where to go so I was totally lost. I also played fairly infrequently, so getting lost or forgetting my objectives was a common occurrence. :-(

Do you thing it was something about the games of the time, or were you too young?

I do think that the older games were much less unforgiving. Maybe because they were harder to make, so it was much easier to make people adapt to the limitations of the game than the other way around. Also, those games had much less competition.

Yeah, I relate with that too.

It was my first playthrough. I had played it well over 20 hours by then.
I won't follow your videos for the reasons you mentioned. (The Aerith bit was spoiled before I even started). But I noticed your last video (the one before this one) precedes the point where I stopped.

Bit of both, I was pretty young, a lot of my childhood favourites like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the NES I only managed to complete once I was an adult... but they are just REALLY hard too compared to a lot of today's games imo. Most things they are still fun but you are going through the motions and it's just a case of when are you going to complete it, I can't remember the last modern game I couldn't complete, whereas a lot of those older games it's a real achievement if you manage to complete them.

Ah ok fair enough, sounds like you were a pretty decent chunk into the game then. I'm definitely over the half way point in my series of it now. It's technically 3 discs but the 3rd disc is almost non existent. By the time you get onto the final disc you've pretty much completed the game.

FYI all, tonight is we need some brute force in Dead Space

Hey everybody!!

I've got a big Q&A planned for when we reach 500 subs and with all the great support I've been getting recently, that's gonna be quicker than I thought!!

So I'm asking for your questions now!

Gaming, film, music, my life, animals, Youtube stuff, ANYTHING you wanna ask me, go for it.

You can reply here with a question, or leave a comment on any of my videos (mention it's for the Q&A) if you want me to mention your channel

Feel free to ask multiple questions
I was bought Hollow Knight by a very loyal subscriber called Aaron, so I thought it only right to repay the favour by showing it off on the channel

Blind playthrough of course cos I love 'em
