tinyE: I think I have it on my harddrive somewhere. It is great IF you don't have AS 2. It's basically just an older version of AS2, lesser graphics/bad guys/settings etc etc etc. I love these games but make no mistake, they are more or less updated Space Invader games, shooters with little else. Then again I only ever played the demo for AS2 so maybe the whole game has some far out extras a missed; when I bought it from Amazon it never worked so maybe I'm missing something.

nijuu: Haven't played either but isnt Alien Shooter Revisited actually the remake of Alien Shooter and Alien Shooter 2 reloaded is the sequel?
This is so confusing...

There is also the Zombie Shooter series from the same designers. We could throw those into the mix and get everyone even more confused!

Alien Shooter = Alien Shooter Revisited (updated basically)
Alien Shooter Vengeance = Alien Shooter 2 Reloaded (sans voice overs)

at least thats what wiki says

When I did read about the whole series on Wikipedia, months ago, I had the distinct impression that Sigma Team LOVES to make remakes of their previous remakes... :D

Stooner: The problem with that is binding the mouse to the analog stick...
Why would anyone want to do something like tie a little mice to a gamepad? :P

You're some kind of pervert? :P

Not surprised. The games are still selling at a decent price unless you nab them in various bundles they have been in (not Conscription though i think....)

I stilll think you said it best with your, "moments when you don't want to explode your head with puzzless, stats or great tactics."
There are games out there made purly for release and I think we all agree that we love and need them, but the fact that we are going over the tiny differences between one mindless shooter and another is really funny.

Agreed. However, I don't mind to try more mindless shooters, provided they don't have the same story, situations and plot twists as the last one. :D

uh oh, better run!

btw, while we are at this, anyone have a good recommendation for a Contra-like shooter for PC?

Duke Nukem Manhattan Project! This game is SO overlooked and it is a shame. It is a pure side scroller with the occasional use of perspective to give a 3D vibe (One bit where you run around inside the edge of a silo; it stays 2D but the angle of the screen moves to give you the feel that you are running in a circle.) Lots of great Contra-esk jumping, bonuses, baddies. It sounds great, looks great, typical boss battles at the end of each level as well as coll hidden stuff (hidden shot gun behind you on the ledge below when you start, strippers who offer pickups, hidden warehouses to blow open and clean out).

I'm sorry to rant but I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH and no one here ever gives it its props. It's just mindless jumping climbing blasting fun and it's on sale. If I had a dime to my name I'd buy you a copy, I'd buy him a copy, I'D BUY ALL OF YOU COPIES!

Abuse is the best shooting platformer of all times... it will make your heart go boom!
(and not because some stupid programmer made this jump almost unjumpable :)

man, thanks for reminding me, I'm going to play that tonight!!!

Abuse is one of the great platformers of all time, but it's old and like most DOS games it can be a little clunky. I'd wager if it ever shows up on GOG it will be an instant buy for a lot of folks here myself included.

Ninjad!

Or, you know, you could just download the free remake that's lying somewhere around the net.
