evilnancyreagan: heh

Elaboration: what a mess

I was overcome with genuine fremdscham while clamoring through the somber wreckage that is Windforge
Vicarious embarrassment? Intense.
I was interested in this game until I heard that it was left unfinished, will probably pick this up at some point...

it was cringe-inducing on a real level.

I think I would be less embarrassed to have some stranger walk in on me masturbating than being caught playing that stink fest.

I weep for the sad state of that game.
nice i was playing this game a lot but the game bugs were bad looks like the new patch is good back to pirate's life haha

It almost hangs there as a warning to anyone making a 2D game: Ye shall not focus on story.

I think the strongest criticism that can be held against that game is that is was a labor of love.

not skill, not foresight or planning, not talent, not cohesive design but , simply love.

the greatest cringe-factor comes from the fact that I think that if I ever tried to make a game, the steamy loaf I'd pinch off would be incredibly comparable in quality and that hits too close to home.

Darvond: In a quite surprising move, the developers of Pixel Piracy have given their game a sudden and massive update!

Here is a video that is made by the lovely Paul Soares JR, going over most of the features of the update.

Does this mean the GOG staff will go and erase the reviews saying it was abandoned/dead?

vicklemos: Great to see this issue popping up here.
This has to be the most awesome statement in the modern history of pirate games, aaaarrrrrrr :D
Respect to the developer for their apology. Now let's see if they succeed at actually improving the game in a significant way.

Thank you and +1 for the info! :)
Now I'm considering buying this game.

If the staff realises that the reviews aren't current anymore they'll probably add a comment to these reviews. I don't believe that they delete any non-spam post.
Glad to see PP is finally what they intended it to be, this is what a good developer would do if the things go south from the beginning and not like some others who implement tons of stuff they promised initially in a second game and what a full price for it (3 titles comes to mind).

Btw what's with Windforge? I haven't gotten to it yet (because of Terraria :)) but it seems really cool doesn't it ?
Will the DRM free build from recent humble bundle get these updates?

Mr.Caine: Will the DRM free build from recent humble bundle get these updates?
Probably, because Humble does generally post updates to DRM-free games, albeit not immediately.
.........the game still has a lot of issues ..expect a long time before a stable build is reached , the new stuff is good though
