So I am sure this has been around before but I havent seen it for a while so I will venture to ask again... Generally speaking what percentages of games you purchase from GOG do you actually play? Lets go a little further and do the % you even download...

For me :

Total purchased - About 100
Total Downloaded - around 80% but this is basically because I decided I wanted to have an archive on hand more so than needed to play.
Installed - Maybe 20% tops
Played more than an hour - Right around 10%.

Strangely despite being in total control of my mental faculties I continue to visit this site and purchase games I have almost no intention of ever playing. I do it because i want the "option" to play. Mind boggling... its like a legal drug habit. What a business model!

I recall a similar thread some time ago. Can't seem to locate it though. Anyway...


Total purchased: 83
Total Downloaded: 98 (lots of freebies given by GOG. ;) ), so about 119%.
Number played to completion: 27 (soon to be 28), so about 33%.

I fully intend to play the others. I just suffer, like many here, from buying them faster than I complete them.

I download everything, save them on my LAN fileserver and backup them on an external HD.

Played, well.. I only buy games I plan to play at some point. But how many I've actually played, maybe 20% (I'm at 185 including freebies).

Total in collection: 118 (higher if I counted each individual game, instead of bundles like Might & Magic 6-pack, Ultima 4+5+6, Quest for Glory 1-5, etc).

Downloaded and installed: Around 40%

Completed: Around 10 (some of them I completed decades ago).

I'm just collecting them for nostalgia. Most of these games I have heard of/wanted as a kid but could never afford them or run them on my old PS/1 286 10Mhz, 1MB RAM, 30MB HD.

Played/Playing: maybe 5-10%
Played for more than an hour: 1-3%
Completed: 15/500? (Stab in the dark)

Total purchased - over 500
Total Downloaded - Over 100% (this include updates)
Installed - a hundred maybe.
Played more than an hour - Below 5%.
