RPS: I have to add, though, that comics might not be the best point of reference for this sort of thing. I mean, it’s a medium that’s notorious – often in a not-good way – for sexing up female characters and putting them in some fairly gross situations.

Browder: We’re not running for President. We’re not sending a message. No one should look to our game for that.

RPS: But it’s not even about a message. The goal is to let people have fun in an environment where they can feel awesome without being weirded out or even objectified. This is a genre about empowerment. Why shouldn’t everyone feel empowered? That’s what it’s about at the end of the day: letting everyone have a fair chance to feel awesome.

Browder: Uh-huh. Cool. Totally.

LOL

'gross'
'problematic'
'creepy'
'inappropriate'

Who the hell even talks like this? RPS used to be my favorite site for news/info/etc on PC gaming, they truly have gone completely off the deep-end with this semi-recent obsession of there's about calling out every game they decide has "sexualized" female characters...

I think they just got a new fan.
I've got no clue where to go for pc gaming news anymore without being a called an entitled misogynist.

I gave up on RPS after that ridiculous review of deponia 3.

Normally, I disregard RPS, but they have my respect for making Mr. Streisand here consistently butthurt.

Sounds like you haven't checked your privilege
Isn't RPS the website which presents almost each game released on multi DL platform mentionning none but Steam? Which praises Paradox and Battlefront without any mention of DRM? Which makes everytime a flame war against Matrix/Slitherine because they dare not release their games on Steam?

Hum. Yeah.
I heard they're not even true gamers.
high rated
RockPaperSocialjustice
I think they should change their name to this. After all using their logic the Shotgun could be seen as a misogynistic phallic symbol used to oppress the female gamers that visit their site.
I usually don't regard RPS very highly, but kudos to them for not letting Dustin Browder get away with that incredibly cheap cop-out of a response.

Crosmando's post doesn't make sense to me though. It seems that he is trying to criticize RPS (for which there are more than enough targets available), but then chose to show an article in which they actually try to do some serious jounalism.
Don't like it, don't buy it.

How is that "serious journalism", unless RPS has suddenly rebranded themselves from a game news site to a political advocacy blog without me noticing, they should be asking questions about ~gameplay~.

But either way it's pretty obvious to me, compare the amount of responses they get to their "controversial" political blogging to their more standard articles just about games, they aren't even in the same ball park, an average game article will be lucky to get more than two dozen comments. While a political stunt article gets them hundreds upon hundreds of comments. It's obvious to anyone with eyes they aren't a gaming site anymore, and the people who visit and comment on their site don't come there for games either, it seems what they really care about is politics and that's it, their "video games" pretense is just a medium for them to pontificate with.
I doubted this, then I read the Deponia 3 review.

Christ.

I just use http://www.vg247.com/ and http://www.bluesnews.com/ :D
I never go to that website but now I will never go to that website for anything, considering the op has revealed to me it's really just RockPaperWhiteKnightBullshit...with a mission in life to harass devs until all games only have environments that make everyone feel empowered aka mediocre dull environments...

I've been always taught that around people who may be a danger to themselves and those around them you should speak softly, keep agreeing and discreetly look for escape paths. Apparently DB is following the same school of thought...
