Prototype 2 was by all accounts a great game and built on the spirit of the original. It even had an interesting twist by having Mercer as the bad guy. This is a genuinely depressing sign of the state of the industry.
It's always sad to see a decent studio shut down, I hope the talented former employees land on their feet elsewhere.
If the 38 Studios aftermath is any indication, and given the performance of Prototype 2, I'm optimistic that they'll turn out okay.
The laugh of it is that Prototype 2 hit the top of the US charts in April. This is greed on the part of Activision, nothing more, nothing less.
Activision: If it ain't Call of Duty, it ain't worth it.
