mondo84: Bill Tiller, former artist at LucasArts, has made a petition to have Steven Spielberg buy all the LA IPs. (Spielberg collaborated with them on The Dig).

If he can't spell "Spielberg", he should probably refrain from posting stuff like that.

LOL I hadn't even noticed that.

Maybe spindown is right. We need to get Señor Spielbergo.

Well. something good came out of all this:

I'm sure modders will be ecstatic!

RayRay13000: So I take it that the chance for Lucas Arts games to appear on here has diminished greatly?...
LucasArts was reluctant to come here. Unless Disney is known for being even more reluctant I would say that the chances haven't changed much.

apocolypse600: One thing that I haven't seen mentioned is that the source code for Jedi Outcast and Academy went up as a tribute to LucasArts. Atleast some good came out of this I guess.

You beat me to it! I had long given up hope of ever seeing source code for those. This blows my mind. Jedi Outcast is one of my favorite games. :D

Hmmm... not seeing a license file or readme in the archives. That's kind of sketchy.
It always seemed rather odd to me anyway that a movie studio (LucasX) would make (PC) games. What was up with that? Similarly silly if Activision started producing and directing movies.

Wohoo, now that is great news!
George Lucas was interested in expanding new technologies into other forms of entertainment beyond films. Setting up Lucasfilm Games is honestly one of the best things he did. Of course it was also part of him 'building an empire' and being able to create more types of products to sell.
It made me sad, even if the golden age of Lucas Art is long gone... It was still attached to some really great games.

...

Just wondering... Any chance to see a "Kingdom Hearts" with Lucas Arts characters instead of Square ?

...

Sam & Max & the Aristocats ?

Cinderella with Lightsaber ? Yeah !
Or The Beauty and the Beast

This scenario would make for a fun porn movie, especially if she was wearing that naughty outfit from Return of the Jedi.

Sam & Max aren't Lucas characters, Disney only hold the rights for the game they developed.
