Today, we bid farewell to the legendary post-apocalyptic 2D classics.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we needed to pull the three classic Fallout games, that is Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics, from sale and remove them from our DRM-free catalog. These classic titles have been with us since day one, that is for over 5 years now, and they were always one of the highlights of the selection of games that we offer. There are very few titles in the history of computer role-playing games, that have had so much impact on the gaming landscape, players' expectations, and even the popular culture. The iconic setting, the memorable quotes, and unparalleled amount of fun and challenge these games provide--it's all burned in the memory of a whole generation of gamers. Probably even more than just one generation. It was an honor to have you here, Fallout. Take good care of yourself out there, try not to mistake a gecko for G.E.C.K. (not even remotely the same thing!), and remember to take your Rad-X pills!

All those who acquired Fallout, Fallout 2, or Fallout Tactics on GOG.com prior to the date of removal (that is before Tuesday, December 31st 2013, at 3:59PM GMT), will still be able to download the games' install files (as well as the bonus content) via the "My Games" section of their user accounts. Gift-codes for these three games acquired in our recent giveaway are no longer valid. However, if you own a gift-code for any or all of them that was purchased outside of the said giveaway, you'll still be able to redeem it in the foreseeable future.

We sincerely apologize for all the inconvenience this situation may have caused you. We invite you to browse through 671 other fantastic titles offered in our DRM-free catalog of the best games in history, and we wish you a Happy New Year of gaming!

TheWraith: Just a question, did you remove Fallout 1 even for those who bought it before the removal ? I still have Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics in my Library... but Fallout 1 is gone for good.
Removed games are never taken off someone's shelf, they're just removed from the store.
Fallout 1 seems to suffer from a weird bug in the database. For quite some time now, it constantly disappears, only to then reappear after a while.
Fallout 1 momentarily disappears from everyone every time they mess with the catalogue somehow. It's like a mine canary. Perhaps the catalogue lost a game again. Or who knows, perhaps one came back? Or maybe they just did another botched-up unbundling.

In any case don't worry, you'll get it back soon enough. This happens all the time.

It came back, thanks.
Pretty disappointed to hear this, but given Bethesda's recent pushes and anti-consumer stances, I cannot say I am too surprised by this.

Well, I'm still disappointed too though. ;)
Hopefully it will come back some day seeing how Bethesda had the nerve to call themselves anti-DRM which was absolutely hilarious.

It was as much a post for friends to find me in the GOG beta to add as friends as anything else >.> They need to add a search f'n

But it's an interesting thing to look back on given the recent fiasco.

I just might get a Twitter account so that I can pester Bethsoft about GOG.

Their support is pretty responsive, I got a reply under 24 hours. If we can get many people to contact their support we'll probably be able to get something out of it. I contacted them to ask if they could remove region restriction for Fallout 3 on Steam. Got a PR reply but I think they'll do something if many people contact them.

Maybe they do support Anti-DRM, does not mean that putting the game on GOG is good business. Believe it or not, GOG is not entitled to every game just solely on the fact they don't have DRM. I support the idea of being Anti-DRM but I still use Steam and all those other condemned programs, does that make me a joke?
Holy necromancy i almost got excited that somehow the games would be back

I don't think this is what Klumpen0815 meant.
Bethesda being anti-DRM is a joke because not only none of their new releases have been DRM-free anywhere and anytime, but they even added the Steam requirement to their new editions of formerly DRM-free older games.
Not bringing back the games on GOG is just another drop in the sea which further enforces the idea that their anti-DRM stance is a ridiculous farce. You don't even need to do serious researches to see they're blatantly lying (unless they meant that the developing studio would be in favour of no DRM, if Zenimax allowed it), just look at the product pages!

Saying this does not imply praising GOG or thinking that all DRMfreeness should be here by Imperial Decree.
