City management on a titanic scale.

Get Zeus: Master of Olympus & the Poseidon expansion and you can create and rule a mythical greek city for only $9.99 on GOG.com.

Zeus (and the expansion Poseidon) is a city building game where you must manage all aspects of an ancient greek city, starting with a small village, and finishing with huge polis that is visited by gods, goddesses, and Greek champions. Zeus is not a simple city building game: of course you need to provide your citizens with enough food, fleece, olive oil, water, culture, and jobs to keep them happy; this game will also challenge your diplomacy, your ability to survive struggles, and your capacity to earn the respect of Gods and ancient heroes. Balancing your budget with what your citizens want is a key element--and if you aren’t careful, you could end up bankrupt! All of this plays a vital role in your city’s future. And Zeus manages to mix all those elements with a light-hearted charm: a guard is called "Dirty Harricles", sportsmen named "Gretzykles" or "Bobbi Orcas", a pair of water carriers named "Abbots and Costellos", and Gods roam the fields and kill livestock for fun. This is definitely a game that is funny while it’s fun.

If you’ve played Caesar 3 on GOG.com, you’re familiar with many of the mechanics that make Zeus awesome, but the new graphics, housing zones, detailed walkers, and quests and objectives make Zeus a new game in its own right, and one that’s phenomenal city-building fun.

Check out what the gods have in store for you with Zeus and Poseidon on GOG.com for just $9.99!

keeveek: plus, shipping cost to Poland, for example, are enormous. It's not worth to buy almost anything from US or UK e-bay here.
avatar
Fred_DM: OK, yeah, shipping differs from country to country. i only had to pay £0.99 shipping per item from the UK to Switzerland.
Good for you. The main problem here is - when you post something from UK to Poland for example... it will take 2 days to ship from UK to Polish border and than... Like 7-14 days to ship it to you.

I lost my nerves with Polish postal office long time ago. Once, when I ordered something from abroad I got my box completely SMASHED.

This is why I'd like to see Emperor and Pharaoh on GOG, to avoid any problems.

and Emperor for example, was never released in Poland (at least I don't remember it), so it's impossible to find it here. Or it was released , but it was so niche, I totally missed it.

sure, man, i understand that. i was just saying that the games aren't all that hard to find, in theory at least. i understand that not everybody wants to go that route, though.

personally, i wasn't going to wait until Zeus, Pharaoh, Emperor and Caesar 4 slowly crawl onto GOG. i mean, with Caesar 3 and Zeus here, that's still 3 games to go. it could take years, you know? so i just went ahead and bought them all at once on Ebay.
avatar
Fred_DM: of course, but what does that matter to you as a customer? that's not my business. the re-seller didn't steal the games, now did you? someone, somewhere, sometime paid Activision for that game. and since when are you so concerned about Activision getting any money?
It is a principle... and because of this... we have shitty DRM out there ;) We have retail shop just like that... Importing games from UK cheaper and selling them for more...
Yeah, waiting can be painful. But I hope since they could release Zeus to work on Win7 64 bit, there shouldn't be any problems with Pharaoh and Emperor too, so we may see them sooner than later

i have no problems with the retail editions i bought. W7x64, i7 2600K, 5870. no modifications necessary. no effort required on GOG's part.

Don't get me wrong everybody can decide where to buy them... this is more easier... For instance - if I want to buy something from US - delivery cost and taxes are insane.. and you wait 14-21 days...
UK is an alternative for sure ...but yet like in Poland we have awfull mail service here.
very nice GOG!
10$? That seems a bit high for this good OLD game.

$10 is worth it for this GOOD old game.
Gah.... another great game!

Ok this is wishlisted for now - too much gone on kickstarter and other games recently ;)

if you bought the game on Ebay you'd pay roughly the same, a bit more depending on the shipping fee to your location. so the price is OK, IMO.

sure, i understand the reservations and concerns. i wouldn't bother with US import, either, since the shipping cost would be too high. UK is relatively simple. costs little, ships quickly, no import tax under a certain value.

i tend to purchase entire series of games. so in this case, the series goes from Ceasar 3 to Ceasar 4 and includes Zeus, Pharaoh and Emperor as well as the expansions. GOG only had Ceasar 3 up to now, and it's still missing the remaining 3 games.
