A legendary comeback to take earth back.

X-COM Classic Bundle, a pack containing five games that set the bar for both tactical and chaotic extraterrestrial warfare, is now available DRM-free on GOG.com with a 75% launch discount. Scavenging the bundle for individual parts grants you a 50% discount on each one.

Is there any gamer left on the planet still unfamiliar with the X-COM legacy? Sure, the organization that was put together when the alien threat reared its ugly head was a project largely kept secret for global security reasons, but the games chronicling its exploits made quite a splash. And for good reason.

When alien invaders do come knocking at Earth's door again, this is what every stalwart protector should have studied in order to prepare themselves for any possible scenario. It's all in here: The tactical, close-combat encounters with alien intruders coming from the far-away corners of space, forcing X-COM to build a UFO Defense. The extensive research on alien technology that helped scientists understand how to fight back the Terror from the Deep that emerged from our unexplored oceans. The deep-space fighting against the advancing alien forces that called for a highly-skilled Interceptor. The desperate fight of a single scientist using scavenged alien technology to clear the streets from aliens as a brutal Enforcer. But did we ever manage to fully cancel the Apocalypse and secure our little corner in the galaxy? That is yet to be determined, commander.

Fight the alien forces across five games that (re)defined entire genres in the X-COM Classic Bundle, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 75% bundle discount and the 50% individual discounts will last until April 5, 13:59 BST / 5:59 AM PDT / 8:59 AM EDT.
X-COM Interceptor has a very annoying issue on newer (2000/XP and later) Windows versions: You cannot destroy alien jammer satellites. This renders the game pretty much unwinnable.

Has this issue been fixed with the GOG-release?

Klumpen0815: Linux please! :)
I second that. Got them anyway but I hope for a Linux release.
Awesome news! I'm going to say something here, and get flamed for it...

I always played and LOVED the original XCOM games, but my guity desire, for years and years, was to try the "off" genre ones. Especially Interceptor. Nice I can now!

phaolo: Oh hello Sinistar. Did you skip the Insomnia this time? :O
Pretty much. I was out of town on vacation for most of it. Did get on and pick up a few titles when I had time, but otherwise didn't really participate. The new rules on how gift purchases work make Insomnia less fun than it was, because part of the camaraderie was watching for games for each other.

Eh, probably they had to react to the many resellers and scammers. : (
Anyway, at least I managed to grab some yummy games. : )

Mr_GeO: UFO: Defence * and Terror from the Depth alone are worth the price of this bundle. Great addition to your library GOG, and instabuy for me (despite still having original - and working! - UFO on 3.5" floppies, meticulously copied to portable HDD)

* - I definetely prefer to call it UFO: Enemy Unknown, as this was an original title fo this game when it was released in Europe
I prefer to call it Laser Squad 3, as I followed it from its Atari ST beginnings.

Enebias: Argh! Why this release AFTER and not DURING the sale!
Good thing I didn't spend a single cent on that silly event. This is way more to my liking. :)
