Lock down the mouse like El Presidente.

Tropico 3 Gold Edition, the third part of the excellent management/political simulation series, is available with the Absolute Power expansion for only $9.99 on GOG.com. That's 33% off the ful price of $14.99 price until on the 14th of June.

Ahhh, how good it is to be the “El Presidente”. What would become of the idyllic little caribbean island if it wasn’t for the great and just leader! Plan plan the layout of their urban areas, secure jobs, build churches and schools, provide electricity, food, and healthcare, and--finally--export precious goods at the best price (with only the smallest cut for yourself). As El Presidente, your people love you: they cheer when you speak and they may even even set up a golden statue of you. And why wouldn't they? You are the benevolent El Presidente! You want only what is best for your peopel! Sure, every once in a while you must have someone killed and you tolerate no dissent of any kinds but that’s a price worth paying for someone like El Presidente. If only those damn commies and capitalists would leave you alone. Just wait until you get your hands on a nice big red atomic button. Then they'll see who's in charge!

Tropico 3 is a game that puts you into the shoes of a dictator ruling over an island banana republic. It is not only a construction and management simulation, but a political simulation as well, in which you need to create a booming economy, keep your people happy, trade with the world, maintain balance between various factions (communists, capitalists, religious, loyalists), and do other dictatorish stuff. If you’re a fan of city-building games, this should be an instabuy: it looks amazingly good, offers logical and very complex game mechanics, and is filled with tons of politically incorrect humor.

You never know when you’ll need to take control over a small country--prepare now with Tropico 3 Gold Edition for only $9.99 until 14 June 2012 at 10:59 GMT.
no kalypso account. I own the same thing on gamestop app so I'm not double-dipping for a second working copy. This and Tropico 4 are also the exact same game save the modern times expansion & DLC buildings (and possibly that 1 is easier-it has a tutioral that is 4 levels to help explain how to manage a island)

ne_zavarj: question : Do we have to create a Kalypso account ?
Only if you are interested in online features, such as highscore posting. It isn't necessary to play the game.

As far as I know Tropcio 3 has only a serial number (that's what I got from gamersgate), the forced use of the Kalypso account for online-updates is in Tropico 4, Patrician 4, the latest Disciples and maybe some other newer games. As far as I know (from what I read) you can play these games without an account, but need an account to update them (same stupid drm-free marketing bluff like Stardocks). As long as GOG will update the games itself there should be no problem for single players. If I'm wrong I hope someone correct me, I got my knowledge mostly through reading about Patrician 4.

Could someone tell me what the 74 "soundtracks" are?
Do they even contain the real soundtracks (which are 15-16 tracks) or are they voices/sound effects?
low rated
Release the sims you fuckers

Pheace: This is a sale ;)

Smannesman: LOL, a good sale than.
It *is* a good sale. 33% on a newly released title. The Christmas 50% sale (don't expect a weekend sale on anything released from now on before Christmas) would be just $2.50 cheaper, and there's no way it's going on a Gem promo.

Thanks for your response.
Yes, now I see the game card only lists "soundtrack", but when I first checked it out, it said "74 soundtracks" - that's why I was completely befuddled, knowing the soundtrack consists of 15 tracks :-).
Anyway, the musical score alone would easily be worth $10, at least in my opinion, provided someone likes latin/salsa music.
What makes this addition... "Gold". Reading the description I only see mention of Tropico 3 and no other content.

The Gold edition includes the Absolute Power add-on.
