You might not think that a hospital sim could be so funny, but remember: laughter is the best medicine!

Welcome to the GOG.com clinic! As a treatment for typical symptoms of moderngameboringus--lack of creativity, no sense of humor, and mindless repetition--we recommend a wonderful insta-cure: Theme Hospital for a co-pay of only $5.99!

Theme Hospital is a hospital management simulation. You need to fill the empty building with all sorts of hospital equipment, starting from desks and file cabinets, to ultra-sophisticated diagnostic machinery like DNA fixer or Head Inflator: you know, equipment every hospital needs. Then you hire all necessary staff members like doctors, nurses, handymen, or receptionists, and once everything’s set up, treat patients as they come in suffering from a variety of humourous illnesses, including Hairyitis, Bloaty Head, and even Slack Tongue (caused by over-discussion of soap operas!).

Theme Hospital is all about the little details: staff personalities, patients vomiting, doctors chilling in the staff room, and fantastic comedic cutscenes. Your hospital requires not only the best staff and equipment but pool tables, soda machines, radiators, and plants to keep your patients and doctors alike happy. Fans of micromanagement will be pleased, but so will fans of fun!

Do what it takes to make the world a better place: pick up Theme Hospital for $5.99 on GOG.com today!

CucuFaiter: I played this game every Christmas since the first day I fell into my hands.

I bought it, but I miss the Spanish language :(
Spanish translation (text and voice) for Theme Hospital (click on the link under "search results"):

I hope you enjoy it, compatriot ;-)

EDIT: I forgot to add that this is not a fan-made translation, but the original voices and texts of the Spanish version of this game.

I still have the original CD for this game, I loved it to pieces but alas it will not work with my windows 7 –shakes fist- Thank you GOG for making it possible to try to beat the plane crash level one more time!
Aaaa! This is a GREAT little game, and is the one I was most looking forward to when I signed up with GOG. I've managed to install it without GOG (with the help of a wonderful young man from the forums), but may buy it anyway just 'cause.
OMG! Thanks a lot, GOG.com! I could bear your babies, if I was not a male lol.
Only thing that bothers me is that the midi doesnt sound as good in dosbox as in the win95 version of Theme Hospital, which I used to to have, but lost the cd 10 years ago.

My other friendly criticism is...I'd rather have it installed in swedish. That was the only Bullfrog game I found completely H-I-L-A-R-I.-O-U-S in dubbed swedish, specially the female receptionist announcer. Dungeon Keeper 1 is fun in swedish too...but doesn't come near the awsomeness of swedish Theme Hospital if your a native speaker of swedish or scandinavian.

My questions....

-Can one get the swedish language files (audio, text...) somehow?
-How do you change the midi in dosbox so it sounds better?

I have no problem at all with the gfx. They look as lovely if not better then the win95.

Anyone know more then me on this? reply or pm me.

Urgh, I was JUST about to snap this up, having loved the PSX version to death years ago.. when someone pointed out it's the DOS version. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I've seen several people ask about the differences between the DOS, PC, and PSX versions, and I'd certainly like to know more about that myself.

Either way, this is indeed a great old game that deserves to be here. Now if we could only get Tomba! to be released, as well; another classic PSX game I played constantly...

I have heard the DOS version also doesn't sound as nice as the PC version, which is a bit disheartening. If someone'd go over the differences more, I'd love to grab this.

Well, if what I said makes no sense, then chide the people commenting about there being a DOS and Windows version, not me. I didn't even know a PC version existed until today. Or I'd have looked for it ages ago.

I believe I still have my beloved W95 TH CD back at my folks' house. I'll get back to you after the weekend (although I don't know how the files are organized so I can't say for sure I'll be able to pull them for you)
Even if I do not have the CD anymore it'll be at my cousin's so it would just take a bit longer to find
best game i've ever played
thank you so much gog for listening to me :D this is the best and most fun hospital sim ever
I picked my CD and checked out those different language sound files asked for earlier. The only files that can store the audio are 6 files called sound-0.dat up to sound-5.dat, ranging from 12.5 to 16 MB each. I'm pretty sure they map to the 6 languages: english, french, german, italian, spanish and swedish. I'm not sure which language a number corresponds to, other than 0 that must be english.

Please note I can't guarantee these files will work with GOG's release, but if they do it'll be an extremely trivial task. Just placing the right file on the right folder and renaming it to sound-0.dat should do the trick.

Edit: a reviewer on the game's page said that GOG's version actually comes with the extra languages. Can anybody confirm it?

Would be very cool if they were included. But also cool would be if GOG put up optional "languages packs" in the Theme Hospital entry in the games library. They should also add the midi files, and some direct links to openTH and Corsix!
