One delightful pirate reunion

We have launched a new developer today--Telltale Games, the finest purveyor of episodic adventure games--and we’re starting off with three fantastic adventures: Sam & Max Save the World, Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space, and Tales of Monkey Island. All three games are on a huge "Welcome to GOG" sale for Telltale, and will be 60% off until 3 July.

Tales of Monkey Island, a game full of pirates, voodoo, and Guybrush Threepwood, is available for the next 7 days with a huge 60% discount--that’s $13.99 for the game with wallpapers, avatars, high-res artworks, developer commentary videos and more goodies.

Tales of the Monkey Island is the fifth game in the beloved Monkey Island series. The game follows fair-haired Guybrush Threepwood who, along with his new wife Elaine Marley-Threepwood, finds himself on a new adventure. This time, our heroes are on a goal to destroy two things: Guybrush's arch-nemesis--the zombie pirate LeChuck--and a voodoo pox that Guybrush accidentally unleashed upon the world. The entertaining story, stunning visuals, clever puzzles, and faithful adherence to the original Monkey Island games earned a lot of praise from critics and great commercial success as well. Tales of the Monkey Island is available on sale for $13.99 until Tuesday, July 3 at 6:59 AM EDT. Be sure to check out the other Telltale Games releases today, all of which are on sale for until 3 July.

If you’re a fan of old-school adventure games or a pirate (YARRRRRR!) you don’t really need any recommendation for and Tales of Monkey Island for $13.99.

TheJoe: All Telltale games are created with the Telltale Tool, yes.

grviper: *shudder*
That thing has memory leaks the size of Sam's maw.
I can assure you the engine is quite stable. I don't know when you last played Sam and Max, but the engine was updated to the latest version shortly after Season Two's release. I've had absolutely no issues with either Season. Tales, of course, also has an updated engine.

I suppose I should be excited, but at that regular price and release date, and Telltale feeling like one giant QTE at times, I'm not really. But of course if others are interested, have at these titles.

On my PC (XP, 2GB RAM) their stuff is quite stable in slowing down to a halt about 1 hour in.

keeveek: I have to say this: the regular price is OUTRAGEOUS.
It does seem that way
high rated

Barefoot_Monkey: Did I just stumble into grog.com?
Surely you must be mistaken...

Same as other DD's.
Regular prices are a bit scary indeed (it doesnt matter if its the same across all dd's):
-30 USD for each sam&max 5 year old games;
-35 USD for tales of monkey island, a 3 year old game.

This one is an absolute MUST BUY for me (probably in the next 10 minutes :) and, if one of my clients comes through tomorrow, I'm probably grab the Sam and Max ones too. I've been dying to get these for ages.

I LOVE GOG!!!!

Oh and Welcome to GOG, Telltale Games -- I for one am very happy to see you here :)

Awesome, GOG, you still manage to surprise me! I just got Sam & Max Season 1-3 with the Almost Everything Pack from Telltale but it's missing Tales of Monkey Island, and the current discount price seems fair enough for what I expect to be one of their better games (even though it's not MI 1-3). Also, thanks a lot for convincing Telltale to let go of their stupid online activation DRM. I know it's a non-issue for most and considered as acceptable, but personally I've had nothing but trouble with it and I welcome a truly DRM-free solution. So kudos for that! (I'm just sorry for all those customers who paid more for these games in the past and got the worse deal because of the DRM.)

And well, I don't dare to put my hopes up, but maybe it's another small step towards convincing LucasArts to get onboard eventually. :)

great seeing telltale on gog, can we expect the walking dead to be released here as well?
Ok, I will consider this a full head-on attack on my wallet! You could have, at least, splat this in three different weeks... Nah, cannot resist to Sam, Max and Guybrush.

*Rushes to check bank balance*
Aaarggghhh!

Okay, watched the videos - yep, I definitely want all THREE.

Ended up buying the first Sam and Max instead of Monkey Island, as I'd forgotten how GOOD those games are. Then tomorrow, if said client sends money owed, I'll be buying at least the Monkey Island game and possibly the other Sam and Max too.

Soooo excited. Now off to download it Yay!!!
Very cool!
Monkey Island series is on top of my adventure games from the past. Also I played first episode of Tales (it was free for a period of time) and I must say it really brings old memories back - good job Telltale Games. Too bad I don't have cash to buy it right now so purchase must wait and I hope it will not be only one time 60% promotion :(.
