One delightful pirate reunion

We have launched a new developer today--Telltale Games, the finest purveyor of episodic adventure games--and we’re starting off with three fantastic adventures: Sam & Max Save the World, Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space, and Tales of Monkey Island. All three games are on a huge "Welcome to GOG" sale for Telltale, and will be 60% off until 3 July.

Tales of Monkey Island, a game full of pirates, voodoo, and Guybrush Threepwood, is available for the next 7 days with a huge 60% discount--that’s $13.99 for the game with wallpapers, avatars, high-res artworks, developer commentary videos and more goodies.

Tales of the Monkey Island is the fifth game in the beloved Monkey Island series. The game follows fair-haired Guybrush Threepwood who, along with his new wife Elaine Marley-Threepwood, finds himself on a new adventure. This time, our heroes are on a goal to destroy two things: Guybrush's arch-nemesis--the zombie pirate LeChuck--and a voodoo pox that Guybrush accidentally unleashed upon the world. The entertaining story, stunning visuals, clever puzzles, and faithful adherence to the original Monkey Island games earned a lot of praise from critics and great commercial success as well. Tales of the Monkey Island is available on sale for $13.99 until Tuesday, July 3 at 6:59 AM EDT. Be sure to check out the other Telltale Games releases today, all of which are on sale for until 3 July.

If you’re a fan of old-school adventure games or a pirate (YARRRRRR!) you don’t really need any recommendation for and Tales of Monkey Island for $13.99.

Bartman3010: Does the GOG version of Episode 1 of Tales of Monkey Island have Earl Boyd in it? I seem to recall they were able to get him shortly after the first episode was released and they re-recorded the lines to match.
Surely you mean Earl Boen? He of Dr. Silverman and LeChuck fame?

mcneil_1: Well this a bit of an unexpected but very welcome addition to GoG
+1

Looks like they always have this kind of surprises and make them appear out of nowhere.

htown1980: So no Mac version?? Fail.
Agreed although not surprised at this point since GOG is not yet doing Mac releases. I hope that will change at some point. I think they could do well selling to Mac gamers too. I know I'd be buying Mac titles here if I could.

Maybe the Summer sale on Steam will see it offered at a good deal for us Mac users though.

gameon: 60% off, saving $21... so the game is over $30 normally. Yikes!

Best for people to get it while its cheap!
You pay 14$ and save 21$, so we are at 35$. I really hope that's not a sucharge for releasing the games drm-free here and still selling the own drm-versions dirty cheap on various sales, that would be a false signal.

About the games (also Sam&Max): Great games, the only one which a bought with a kind of drm to grab the later the cd versions for delivery charges only later. They have an episodic format, but I would count the series as one game. Maybe I will get it here at the actual price, but I will wait to see Telltales reaction if they maybe will also to drm-free download versions. So, good release gog. Pricey, but good.

Edit: Btw, it costs also 35$ at the Telltale shop, but it feels lower because it's on steady sale on different shops.

Does this mean we can expect the other Monkey Island games from now on? O:

Just checked out at TellTale and the full price for the complete series is $34.99.

Even at full price we are saving money at GOG.

No. Telltale is an indie developer and got the license from LucasArts to develop some episodic games for the Sam&Max and Monkey Island franchise. If gog don't get LucasArts on board there is no chance to get the classics. Telltale also released the remake on their site, I guess they were involved in the engine but I'm not sure. It's not very likely for me we will at last we see this here.
high rated
Did I just stumble into grog.com?
Is the engine the same they used for S&M?

wolfsite: Dang it... why did I buy these on Steam last year. Why Why!
Hey, I have the original Telltale copy of Tales. I preordered it so I got the DVD with the slipcase. I also have the Collector's Edition from Game. I also have it on Steam. Oh, also the poster print.

I'll be grabbing here when I actually have money, too.

Let nothing hold you back from your GOGs.

Regrettably my religion prevents me from using steam. So i can only whinge about gog not getting it or purchase from some other drm free outlet... I prefer to whinge.

All Telltale games are created with the Telltale Tool, yes.

*shudder*
That thing has memory leaks the size of Sam's maw.
I have to say this: the regular price is OUTRAGEOUS.
