Wow! It's even cheaper on Epic!

OK I'll just "find another way to test it" then. >:<

Well played devs. Looks like a lost sale.

Er, no, it's $15.99 on both. Any regional currency difference is not on the devs, and not an excuse to pirate it even if it was.

Indeed ($19.99 on both epic and gog with 20% discount from that on both stores); also I would think that declarations of piracy risk getting banned.

Not quite true. There's the regional difference thatt is purely depending on the exchange rate and then there is regional pricing in which case devs or rather publishers tranlate i.e. $->Euro 1:1 which is their decision. This game however does not seem to be regional priced - at least not in Germany.

Exactly that. If the offer is unsatisfactory, then you do without. There is no convenient excuse for piracy.

Furthermore, I consider that Batman Arkham Series must be released on GOG.
I'm happy to see Linux support for what looks like a pretty interesting game. Wishlisted!

RelicMaster: Trippy. Kind of looks a little like Portal.
I was thinking the same thing. Portal meets The Stanley Parable. ;) It looks like a fun game!

It's my choice not willing to pay for devs having so little respect for their customers so yea.

I may not even bother playing it in the end.

That's a lost sale, take it as that.

I heard about this ages ago and really wanted to play it, but being insulted is not a good way to sell me stuff, so yea.

Ok, for anyone wondering if this runs on his/her toaster... I played through the game on a laptop with an i5 and an Intel HD 620 (low settings, 1280x768, still looks fine). However, according to Galaxy it took me 1:36 to finish the main story on my first play through, going in blind other than seeing the game trailer, just to manage expectations.

Again, you don't seem to understand: the devs are not in charge of any regional price differences that might exist between Epic and GOG. They set the base price to $19.99. The price is the same on both stores. There is no "little respect" or "being insulted" involved at all. If you don't get that basic fact, I don't know what to tell you. It's like you're actively trying to make up fake reasons to be offended so you can "justify" piracy in your head.

Just checked it and you are correct. The game is 13,49 Euro here and on Steam while it is 12,79 Euro on Epic. Maybe they got some additional money from Epic to compensate for the difference - but I can completely understand your decision.

That is so wrong - and I already told you. Adding regional pricing is up to the publishers and has nothing to do with GOG or Epic. Still no reason for pirating of course - not buying is one thing ... pirating another.

Thank you, sir. It seems that some people here have a really bad time separating others' decisions with theirs. :D

It's only a "fair" on Opencritic and while I don't trust (or often align) those scores it may be that it's a nice gimmick but a passable game. So I guess I'll "try" it some other way... prbably will be given away on Epic in a couple months anyway, so. :P

Cheers.

Do you actually know this, or are you just assuming? Because I've been selling through online stores for many years and as a dev I've never had an opportunity to set regional pricing. Also, the quoted price difference of €13.49 vs. €12.79 is trivial and obviously not the result of "disrespect" or anything like that. Once more, since some people have a lot of difficulty understanding basic concepts, the developers set the base price to $19.99 on both stores. It's...a decision, I guess, to get very upset over a few cents difference, but not one I can respect.

Well, tbh - I don't know it for sure with Epic but when it comes to GOG:

1) It is logical. GOG once had a flat price policy and they only introduced regional pricing (knowing that their customers would not want them) when they introduced indie games to the classics because publishers demanded them. When regional pricing was introduced here on GOG we had a big discussion and the main point was always the same: we could either have rergional priced games or not have those games at all. If GOG could have decided they would have decided against it to keep their customers happy. Even until today people still are criticizing them for allowing regional pricing.

2) I talked to a dev about this question some time ago when he was about to release his game on GOG.

3) I do think that it depends if you are self publishing your games or if you have a publisher. In the latter case the publisher probably decides if and how regional pricing will be in place - not the dev.

You said yourself that you would use a torrent download? What's that other than piracy? Without your comment I would never have accused you of such a thing.
