takezodunmer2005: Have to wait a bit as gog already brutalized my wallet...Wish-listed for now, but I have yet to complete 1-2 anyways, so...

Ghorpm: Whoa, you may need > 200h to finish complete versions of SpellForce 1+2 so it may take some time before you buy SpellForce 3
LOL, I'm a video game whor* Hoarder* err, Collector so finishing a game is not really a deterrent for a new purchase in a series! :) It's more of a money issue than anything else!
low rated

no achievements, no answer as to why. while there are achievements for steam version. for that reason only, I rate your game 1 of 5 stars.

Jonathan_The_Gamer: No SpellForce 1 + 2 sale?
For about a week or so :)

DF1871: Wishlisted but i think it's better to wait 2-3 Month until the game is patched and stable^^

Caesar.: Lately I'm finding waiting 2-3 years for a Gold/Complete/GOTY edition is totally fine. But that's another story.
Exactly, and if I'm particularly interested into actually playing the game (lately I found out I'm hoarding the games here on the GOG without even installing them ... in hundreds...), I'm also waiting for linux version, or confirmation that wine handles it really well. SF3 at the moment doesn't fit any of that (no linux, and the limited demo didn't work with wine), but *congrats to developers for releasing* a game, I know how hard that is and especially before the successful release the required effort is huge. Maybe I will buy it few years later.

blueskies758: fantasy characters

Mephe: You acknowledge that the characters are fictional but think that the developers shouldn't be able to choose which accent to use?
I do indeed. I also acknowledge my bias, and also acknowledge such an endeavor is unlikely given the amount of recorded voicework in the game. It just puzzles me.

Just curious as to what accent you think they should have and why?

*edit* Not that I'd necessarily disagree with you. For example, I realize Dwarfs with Scottish accents is a tired and cliched trope, but I still want them to have that accent. Doesn't seem right for a dwarf to speak without it.

I'd love to hear an Italian accent for a change. All blame goes to Eco's books.

British first choice, but French, Spanish, Polish, Greek, Middle Eastern all would be fine. I wouldnt mind if 1 or 2 of the characters were american, but not all of them.

Actually Vizzini from Princess Bride would be an AMAZING american to cast lol, wonder no one has capitalized yet.

Why ?
Fantasy has a history with Brittanica: LOTR films, King Arthur films, Robin Hood, etc. C.S. Lewis was from Britain. What well known fantasy lore has it's root in the US (dont say Star Wars). As I think about it, I need to spend more time with the game, but part of what Ive heard sounds like over acting. Americans can do a fine commanding performance: James Earl Jones, Morgan Freeman, Jeff Bridges

Which reminds me, why does the lead singer of The Ghost speak with a Transylvanian/Romanian accent?

HELLO! He's from Sweden! :P

...
What's the difference between 1.0 Final and 1.0 Final #2? Will there be any changelog? Will there be any patch to upgrade from one to another?
I'm hearing a lot of good things from like-minded players who were intrigued but not convinced by SpellForce 2. Apparently the writing in SpellForce 3 is a standout feature and there's some genuine heart behind the pretty visuals. Time to send Santa my Christmas letter.

To give the game a one star rating based solely on the lack of achievements seems a bit petty to me. Your review should be based on the game as a whole, how it plays, is it fun, graphics, sound and so on.

It looks amazing. Is there any need to play the previous entries to understand this one or was it designed as a "jump in fresh" title?
