Enebias: I wonder what's next for Mimimi. They have been teasing their new project for so long, yet afaik nobody outside the studio knows anything yet.
Well, we do know it's another real-time tactics game, in a new setting (and a new IP), which I am perfectly happy with. I hope it might be Caribbean during the golden age of piracy, but I suspect I'll be ok with whatever they come up with.
Will definitely be getting this. I loved Shadow Tactics.
Very cool. Wishlisted!

Pirates: historically know for their meticulous planning and their stealthy infiltration & assassination tactics!

HunchBluntley: Did Mimimi create the ports themselves, or farm them out to a company like Aspyr or...that other one whose name starts with 'F' (I think)? Because, if the latter, it really could be the publisher's decision, as some of those companies retain separate publishing rights to the ports they're contracted to make, and they generally don't like distributing them DRM-free.
"Feral," but no, it's a Unity game, there's no need for a third party to port it.

(That is, Shadow Tactics is; I don't know for sure about Desperados but it seems very likely.)

Yep, that was the name.
Anyway, wasn't sure if something like that was the case here -- I just know it has been for a lot of Mac ports for games by AAA and mid-level developers (and Linux ports, when they've decided to bother with those).

Ah, but you have heard of them...

Nice to see the expansion here. The original Shadow Tactics is one of the best in its genre. :)

However, I will wait for either native Linux version or better discount.

You mean like desperados?

While it was a little expensive the missions are longer and I had a lot of fun. Was good to be with the 'old' team again and I really enjoyed the ending section. Looking forward to what else this studio might put out.
Shame there's no Linux release at this moment. I hope that's an oversight which will be corrected soon, given that the base game does have a Linux version?
When will see the Linux version on GOG? It's available on Steam. Just saying.

Yes, that also has a ridiculous setting, given the gameplay.
I'm not saying that gameplay can't be great regardless, mind you -- just that these are odd choices of settings, considering the chosen gameplay. Might as well set such a game in a stereotypical U.S. "inner city" in the 1980s and have crackheads and street gang members be the operatives. =P

I'd disagree. It's a bit like saying that a spy story set during the American Revolution wouldn't make sense, just because people more commonly associate it with big pitched battles and spy stories are for the Cold War :P I mean, it's not like just because a game has a "pirate" settting it has to be about high octane action and big naval battles. Hell, arguably the most famous pirate story ever written, Treasure Island, is more about scheming and subterfuge than any of that. I can imagine it having perfect sense for a small group of characters, some last few members of a crew left for dead for example. Break a shipmate out of prison, steal a treasure map, kill the captain who marooned you on an island or the governer who hanged your brother... I don't see why that shouldn't be fitting for a bunch of scheming cutthroats who obviously can't win a straight up fight against overwhelming odds.
