The color of darkness.

Scanner Sombre, a claustrophobic experience set inside a network of tunnels devoid of light, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 20% discount and the studio's previous games included as bonuses: Darwinia, Uplink, Multiwinia, and DEFCON.

You wake up in a cave that echoes with the danger of the unknown. Confused and helpless, your only hope is to use your scanning device to explore the surrounding darkness and find an exit. With each beam, the caverns turn into a tapestry woven by colored dots. With each beam, the horrible truth comes alive.

The offers will last until May 3, 2:00 PM UTC.
If you already own any of these bonus games on GOG.com, please contact our support team to request a giftable game code.

Scan the trailer for yourself.

Downloading.

First impressions: I have to keep holding the left mouse button all the time or I'm blind. Well, at least that means both my hands have something to do, unlike in other walking simulators. Also, no way to change keybindings in-game.

Gog Galaxy's screenshot feature produces, er, "something" in this game. There go my beautiful landscapes.

I'd rather scan Sombra, thanks.
For some reason the art reminds me of the first maudlin of the Well album art.

So, this is just a walking simulator, nothing else? No other gameplay elements, riddles, something? Does it contain any kind of plot or are you just exploring?
This looks really cool, but I'm going to wait for news that it's coming to Linux before I pull the trigger.

Nothing else yet. I've played for half an hour. Closest to a puzzle was a room with a couple of overlapping bridges that were broken in places and you had to "figure out" how to get to the other side.

EDIT: I forgot, there's a temple of a human sacrifice cult. And you find upgrades for the scanner even though the main character said (I think, it's just text on the screen, no voice) that he is the first one that deep in the cave for a thousand years.

AAAND... DONE. Very short, gimmicky, shitty ending. Stay away!

I still don't know what prevented me from taking screenshots.

Thanks for the play-by-play. That's disappointing; it sounds like it's a case of showing off the style without any actual effort toward developing gameplay.

Looking at their Steam developer page, I see that every one of their games has been bundled at least three times (and some four). I guess this one will be another bundle title soon so, without an actual game behind the beautiful visuals, I'm not in a hurry to buy it any time soon.

I really hope I'm wrong, though, and that the demo is just poorly thought out. I've bought their other games on release (yep...in actual boxes, even!), and I'd love to continue supporting them.

It IS advertised as walking simulator, so no surprises there. Looks good at first but since that's it, it becomes boring rather quickly.

I would be rather pissed off if I hadn't gotten the other games for free. So far I've tried Darwinia and I like it.
