Humor, Hotties, Hijinks, and a Handsome Hero.

Runaway 2: The Dream of the Turtle, a sequel to point-and-click jewel Runaway: a Road Adventure, is available on GOG.com for only $9.99.

This GOG-summer has been gracious to adventure fans: Torin’s Passage, Blackwell Bundle, Resonance coming next week, something unexpected in two weeks, and now Runaway 2: The Dream of the Turtle, the second part of series that mixes modern execution with old-school point-and-click adventuring.

Brian Brasco, a not-so-nerdy doctoral candidate in Physics at Berkeley, goes with his full-bosomed broad Gina Timmins, whom he saved in the first part of the game, to a well-deserved vacation in Hawaii. Things go from holiday-lazy to exotic-crazy when their plane crashes and Brian needs to set on a journey to once again find his missus.

Publisher describes Runaway 2: The Dream of the Turtle as “too weirdly entertaining for words in this title” and he’s not far from the truth. Gripping story, challenging puzzles, lovable characters make up for a highly enjoyable little point-and-click gem. Wonderful visuals, which combine 2D backgrounds and 3D 'shapes', will probably appeal more to male audience, but the amazing rest will appeal to all adventure-lovers, especially since Runaway 2 is now available DRM-free on GOG.com for only $9.99.

Wait for another release later today ;).

We can never have too many point and click adventures if you ask me!

You did ask me didn't you?

lugum: it's defnitely not crap.

lukaszthegreat: Definitely?

I am serious. I did hear a lot of bad things about this game. sure it is not the worse but still not good.

graphically it is very nice no one denies that but as a game it apparently suck?
Just start with the first part, if you really like that game then you won't regret playing 2 AND 3. Yes maybe Brian was a bit of a jerk in part 2 but it still has the same feel and gameplay all over the triology. Maybe i also grant that the story line could have been slightly better, but if you just like to play good old style point and click adventures then you won't regret this.
It's about time. I've played German version of the first part and enjoyed it.
Wishlisted.

come back when you've actually played it.

i already own the game on disc, but i might pick up the GOG edition when it goes on sale. too bad it's only in English and French. German should be included as well.

keeping my hopes up for the second of today's releases. Carmageddon would be an instant purchase...

I don't know the release date for RCR, but Carmageddon should be "not too much longer now." ;)

This may be wrong, but i noticed that when the difference between the editor's review and the user reviews score are bigger than 1 point, the game tends to be very good. I might be wrong, tho:)
This game has the most unlikeable main character in the history of gaming.

Plus, the puzzles are dreadful, which is a bit of a problem when the game piles them up so high that even the most inane task takes about five illogical puzzles to complete.

Simon, from the "Simon the Sorceror" series is kind of annoying too, but they're still good games, aren't they?

Trust me, Simon doesn't even come close to Brian Basco.

(also, the only Simon-game that I really loved was number 1, and I think maybe Simon 2 - which I admittedly haven't played for many years - have many of the same puzzle-related drawbacks that the Runaway-series)
