Fesin: That may all very well be true, but to be honest, as long as I don't get a confirmation from a blue text that it#s safe to buy from GOG.com, I just don't wanna risk it.

Is it normal that it takes that long to renew the certificates? To me as a layman it doesn't sound like anything that should take much of your time.
So gog has new certs and bug is patched...

Along with that the Certificate Authorities were so congested they started a Que system... its unprecedented event in the history of the internet..

just yesterday a team of hackers were able to pull a cert from Heartbleed. now done thats in the wild and thous sites not yet patched should be considered compromised.

Tarhiel: ... I think the discounted price was fair. C´mon the game cost 8. something Euro, that wasn´t much at all.

Trilarion: That's what I said. I agree with you. The short version: Discounted price was fair, undiscounted price is not fair, discounted price all the time (even with calling it undiscounted) would be fairest.
I think we all agree that a game released two years ago can not cost 30$ as a normal selling price. That is just an exorbitant price. Well at least we have discounts to remedy the excesive pricing.
In laymen terms a novice hacker/script kiddie can get this (see image) its a password that was fully encrypted and going though SLL/TLS

as you can see the password is readable for the Yahoo mail account.

To break it down the attacker sends a pieces of data 1 piece and says he sent 64,000. The server responds not with the 1 peice but the last 64,000 pieces its stored in memory. So if you hit a server non stop you could compile all that data and eventually get anything. EG: hit yahoo and get everyone authenticating with yahoo at that moment.

I hope that helps.

I see now and I do agree with you.
I do think that some games here are overpriced - especially Daedalic and Telltale games (and, to my info, GOG has nothing to do with it, price points are dictated by publishers - feel free to correct my if I am wrong) - and for these it is wise to wait for a discount. But oldies and, frankly, anything up to 20 Dollars is acceptable in my book.

StingingVelvet: Underrated game. The end sections are way too linear but otherwise it's a fun Piranha Bytes game with exploration and sarcasm aplenty. The gunplay was particularly fun for me in an RPG, and the colonial setting was unique and enjoyable.

I am bummed they added the cheat DLC "pirate's clothes." I know many would have complained it wasn't "complete" without it, but the blunt truth is that kind of "awesome armor at the start!" DLC throws off game balance and is completely retarded.

Anyway... I have this on Steam and while I prefer DRM free its going to have to come down a bit in price for me to rebuy it.
I was disappointed at seeing the two installers, I hope this does not become commonplace at GOG but it does give you the option of not having the expansion if you feel it unbalances gameplay. Yet isn't it just as easy to just wear other armor if the bonus armor is too strong? Extra armor can't be the only content added by the pack or that is truly pathetic.

I always appreciated NOT having to spend a lifetime running separate installers and I long swore off buying piecemeal "DLC" so seeing "+1 DLC" above the game on my shelf enrages a part of me when I went in purchase a complete "gold edition." I know it is not much of a distinction but it does get under my skin. The thing that dulls and muffles that tinge of rage is the fact that the combination of "Pirate-themed" and "Open-world RPG" into one phrase makes my heart jump for joy.
Having DLC in a separate installer makes sense since this means a combined installer doesn't have to be tested and those getting the DLC later on don't have to download the whole game. I'd expect to see more games handled like this for the cases where DLC is currently sold separately on GOG.
Let's release other Deep Silver games too:

- Cursed Mountain
- Emergency
- Lost Horizon
- Neuro Hunter
- Panzer Elite Action
- ParaWorld
- Prison Break: The Conspiracy
- Secret Files
- The Fall: Last Days of Gaia
- The Immortals of Terra
- Wildlife Park
Do we allready have some kind of review from a Gog'er?

As Arkose said having a separate DLC installer actually makes a lot of sense. I have wished for DLC installs to be optional on Steam since they started selling DLC, but they still aren't. GOG made a wise decision here in having it separate if you ask me.
Jeez, just my luck, I missed the discount.
How does this compare to Gothic 1-2 and Risen 1? (which I love, both)

I played a bit on the PS3 and didn't get convinced, thought voice acting was amateurish, and it starts with a bit of lowly "go and fetch me something outside" kind of missions. Also combat felt rather simplistic (Gothic and Risen needed careful timing to master).

Sorry for the necro, but I think it's about time that Gog should release Risen 3 : Titan Lords. On April 3rd it will be a year since the first Risen release.
