The fast and the colorful.

Redout: Solar Challenge Edition is now available DRM-free, 50% off until December 5th, 2PM UTC.

Ready, set, GOG!
That's right, this love letter to the rad arcade racers of old is finally on GOG.com as the timed-exclusive Solar Challenge Edition, which includes all DLCs, bells, whistles, and colors known to man. Diverse environments, dozens of tracks, plus the option to face your friends in local split-screen multiplayer!

HunchBluntley: This has got to be one of the only games on GOG that has a video but no screenshots; I'd much rather have the reverse, as one can easily find video of a game elsewhere if one wants, while decent screenshots are sometimes harder to come by (and might be scattered among different sites). Of course, having both is the best option, but having only a video rubs me the wrong way. I tend to nope right out of Humble Store pages that only have a video; Don't go down that path too, GOG.
EDIT: (Reluctantly) changed Bumble to the much less hilarious -- but intended -- Humble.

On an unrelated note, how does one race cooperatively? Because unless the only form of multiplayer is a mode where you form a team with friends and play against a team of AI-controlled racers, the game has head-to-head multiplayer; it being local-only doesn't make it co-op.
(I think this is partly a problem with how GOG uses these terms; instead of having a "multiplayer" feature tag, there should be several, such as "local multi", "Galaxy multi", "head-to-head" (or "competitive multi"), and yes, "co-op".)

drowne: That makes a lot of sense, we are trying to fix this ;)

In the meantime, you can checkout some screenshots here: http://34bigthings.com/press/sheet.php?p=redout
Thank you very much for bringing Redout to GOG.

It would be great if you could also make the soundtrack available for some bucks, as it is truly great.

Thanks. : )
Hi,

I have this on Steam but, need to ask:

Does this GoG version have keybindings (without the need for that external tool)?

Thank you.

drowne: In this case, it has been our fault. Redout's multiplayer has been done two years ago now and doesn't support the Galaxy SDK. In the meantime you get the play the full redout experience of a very small fraction of the price ;) Hope that's good enough!
Ben fatto, ragazzi! Vi ho probabilmente rotto anch'io su Twitter per avere il gioco qui su GOG, appena ho due spicci lo piglio :D

Italians! They exist! I thought there could be only one!

I'm not the last of my species on GOG...

Buttspikes: Great addition, thanks for working on bringing Redout here.
I wanted to ask for the sake of understanding, since reading didn't give me a clear answer: Redout multiplayer isn't working "now" or it won't "ever" work?
A racing game that got multiplayer disabled for a time is one thing, a racing game that won't ever get multiplayer is another one entirely.
I second the call for clarification here. I was initially excited to see the game hit GOG, but instantly disappointed when I saw that "single-player" qualifier tucked away in the description. I don't want another Armello DRM Free Edition. I want the whole game. The current technical limitations are understandable, but I mostly want to know whether those limitations are going to be overcome down the road (as in, you're actually trying to get multiplayer added to the Solar Challenge Edition) or if they're essentially here to stay (meaning GOG has what amounts to a gutted product).

mechmouse: Oh wow. really impressed and happy to see it here
Shame about the lack of multiplayer.

GoG really needs to nail down the multiplayer aspect of Galaxy

Fair deal.
It would be great if you add to the game the option multiplayer over LAN and/or Direct (IP) Connect. This will also solve the multiplayer issue and will not require touch-up for the MP Galaxy API and, potentially, add possibility to cross-play (GOG-Steam players). Ah, dreams, dreams...

What about the soundtrack? In the description there is no information about this. *It should be noted that the soundtrack in the game is good and it would be a pity if the "full version" "which includes all DLCs, bells, whistles, and colors known to man" does not contain it.

Anyway, thanks for release here. Will buy at this weekend even in current state (Even with the fact that I prefer racing games with real cars). As I say in neighbor topic - GOG awfully lack of racing games.

Yes, they do!
Just loaded it up

It has Local Split screen multiplayer (needs at least 1 controller), which is good enough for me

The co-op tag seems erroneous

mechmouse: I'm buying this, multiplayer wasn't going to be an issue for me, but I know its an issue for a number of players. I was hugely interested in this when I first saw it. You've probably got an email from me begging for a GoG release.

I know the Team behind Antigraviator where limited by the 3rd party multiplayer tools not supporting GoG's multiplayer which is another reason I'm bugging the GoG team to get multiplayer sorted.
If it was you, I did reply to your email back then ;)

We didn't really have many, but GOG is still an important place to be for us!

As for the current state of things, Redout on GOG will be available with the entire gameplay DLC set for an insanely low price, in exchange for the lack of online multiplayer, mostly. But if the launch here goes in the right direction, we can definitely discuss bringing the feature here instead of focusing more efforts on Redout: Space Assault or the next game.

It really boils down to the first couple of weeks of sales here ;)

Yes you did, I remember the Galaxy API was release a bit too late for your dev cycle.

I'm always grateful when I get replies back from Devs, even if the game is not coming to GoG.
Thank you for bringing this DRM free to GOG!

While this version is single player only, I too would like to know if it has VR support with the gamepad controllers? I already own the Steam version, but would like to get this version as the inclusion of all DLC is extremely tempting.

Cheers!
