There’s Pandemonium in the crowds!

When a young sorceress, a court jester, and a demented stick-puppet get hold of the ancient wizard spellbook titled "Ancient Wizards Spellbook", use of which "May result in danger and death", you can expect Pandemonium on GOG.com for only $5.99.

Pandemonium is a 2,5D platform game: the player can move in two dimensions but in a full 3D environment, which is displayed from all types of perspectives and angles to give the game a dynamic look. Before each level, player can select a character: the sorceress Nikki who can double-jump, or Fargus the joker, who can deliver a special spinning attack by throwing his talking stick-puppet called Sid. Later, you'll also gain access to fireballs or shrink- and freeze-rays. Apart from that, you can expect everything you remember from ‘90s platformers: many difficult levels, incredibly impressive boss-fights, collecting coins and hidden prizes, and a ceaseless wave of enemies.

Pandemonium came out in the heyday of platformers, in the times of Crash Bandicoot, Earthworm Jim, Jazz Jackrabit, and Gex--which was developed by the creators of Pandemonium. It was a time when gaming was simple but challenging and brilliantly entertaining. And that’s what Pandemonium is: plain good platforming fun that, thanks to 3D graphics and camera movement, is also a fast-paced vertigo-inducing romp.

Pandemonium is top-notch old-school platforming for only $5.99 only on GOG.com.

Onkel_Donald: It's the 3dfx version, splash screen with 3dfx logo included.

haydenaurion: Do the CG cutscenes work or are they freezing up like GOG's version of Tomb Raiders 2 & 3?
I've seen the logos and the intro a couple of times now and they've played always without freezes or similar problems.

Roman5: Great release I remember playing this on the PS1 ages ago

But...why is there not a single piece of Bonus content? that's a real bummer

DCT: Probably because they couldn't find/get any
Not even the manual? I'm surprised.
It seems to be a software Version. The 3dfx Logo is there, but it just doesn`t look "right".I got an alarm from MSSE at the first start, because the program is unknown. The game works with the 360 gamepad out of the Box!

Yeah sadly I couldn't find any place that had a copy/scan of the game manual and I doubt Edios/Square-Enix would bother keeping copies of a manual for a old action platformer.

GOG Staffers are people, not robots!
You could be more polite when asking about something.

I like it how right after I made that post IMMEDIATELY the game was marked as "Completed"

can the GOG staff pay more attention to the Wishlist please? It's there for a reason

What resolution is the game running in? IIRC, the software version only supported a really low res.

Chill down. :) Of all the things that need/can be done when a new game is released, updating the wishlist is fairly low-priority. If they have one staff member going through the wishlist once a week, marking completed requests as such, then that's totally sufficient imho - no harm done.

It's not software version. However, it uses nGlide for emulating 3dfx, which does not support texture filtering in Pandemonium by default.

To me, not having texture filtering looks like a plus. In all of the comparison shots given in that thread, I prefer the crisp blockiness over dull blurriness.
