itsnotatuxedo: Watching this until Linux/Mac builds are added. Is it really that difficult to release them to GOG at the same time?

alexandros050: Bad news for Mac/Linux users. You should probably request a refund..Don't know why they can't release those versions if they are already available on other stores.

This also happened to Phoenix Point after it was released here from the Epic store
According to this, it's DRM-free on the Epic store (so is Phoenix Point for that matter). I'd prefer not buying it there, but honestly this kind of nonsense makes me not want to buy it at all. Or I should say, refund it on GOG and then not buy it again.

mqstout: Lack of other OSes on GOG is an issue. I wish GOG would speak more to why the bleeping bleep devs never do them here it seems. Something has to be off about how GOG works things for it to be so consistent.
On the other hand, there are 1-man dev "teams" that seem to have no problem having non-Windows versions on GOG and keeping them updated too. It would be nice to hear what is actually going on.

Exactly. Studios with less resources manage to have their version pushed quite consistently across all platforms and store fronts so I find it hard to believe it's a matter of allocating resources. Rather I think it's either for ideological reasons or out of pure lazyness/greed. Alas, we can't know for sure.

Had I bought this I'd be issuing a refund but this is one of the reasons I tend not to buy new releases anywhere, less likely here if this is to continue.

There were multiple cases where non-Windows builds were outsourced to a third party developer which then proceeded to refuse permissions for non-DRM platforms. There seems to be one particular Linux-porter which is especially braindead.

Smaller developers either don't do non-Windows builds or do it themselves, so that problem never really arises for them.

Well, at least GOG insta-refunded this. As for porting, it's a Unity game, there's barely anything to do aside from selecting the OS and clicking "publish", unless they're heavily using native code plugins or something.

No native dependencies for sure: Steam offers a Linux build.
My New Year's Eve wish: GoG shows some Linux love. Or at least explain why is a non-Windows port not happening, to let us know they care.

Excuse me , but what ?

Thank you for mentioning that. The fact that native macOS and Linux versions (available elsewhere) are not available on GOG is, however, a rather sad state of affairs.

Note: OTC was published by Stardock, who surprised us they put it here at all in the first place. They're a very pro-DRM, billions of DLC publisher.

Old World is from a new publisher (Hooded Horse) that Mohawk went to for their newer game. Hooded Horse has so far been somewhat active on GOG's forums and definitely looks like it'll be a better situation.

Mohawk is the designers/makers. They're small (but not tiny) and are working with publishers for distribution. Publishers are often the kink in these kinds of decisions.

Not...really? I mean at least Mac users can buy and play Offworld Trading Company here, even if it doesn't have all the DLCs.

Confusing post.

As for New World, there's only one DLC to date, and on Steam or GOG you get that free during this promo period.

Epic does offer the DLC as a separate purchase (though also the combo for the base price as with GOG/Steam), but that's only because the base game has been on sale there for two years already.

I definitely recommend playing through the tutorial scenarios. Played 4 of the 5 so far, and while it does an okay job of explaining some of the basics, some of the more minute details players will have to figure out for themselves. While in baby mode, it's a good time to go poking and prodding around to figure out what's what.
Trying to start the tutorial or new game takes me back to the main menu - which is very annoying! I noticed in windows event a viewer a RADAR_PRE_LEAK_64 error associated with the OldWorld.exe file.

Anyone had this? I just dropped $50 on this, so yeah, kinda annoying!
