Double the vampire lords, double the fun!

Legacy of Kain: Defiance, the vampiric action-adventure game filled with furious fighting is now available on GOG.com for only $5.99!

Nosgoth, sweet Nosgoth. Motherland of the vampire kind. It might be a gloomy, morbid wasteland, but it's the only place a bloodsucking, cadaverous fiend can call home. So when a vicious, powerful enemy schemes to invade it, even mortal enemies like the ancient vampire overlord Kain, and the deformed, power-hungry outcast Raziel join forces in its defense. Each of them follows his own path of bloodshed and destruction towards the common goal, but little do they know about the plots and machinations underlying their quest. In the end, it might just be that only one of them will survive.

The combat oriented gameplay invites you to progress and master each character’s unique weaponry and fighting techniques. You will encounter countless imaginatively designed foes and explore a vast and--in its own twisted way--beautiful environment. As in the previous games in the saga, there will be puzzles to test your wits and the solid storyline will keep you intrigued for hours.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance ties provides a closure to the Legacy of Kain saga so don’t miss out on your last chance to become a fearsome vampire lord--heck, even two of them!--for only $5.99!

This is weird. I was watching Nostalgia Critic's "Alone in the Dark" review just a minute ago which included two Zuul jokes. Your comment confused me for a sec.

Hehe, funny coincidence. I just thought it seemed appropriate in the situation.

Fenixp: 2003 game? GOG, how dare you releasing games that are not pre 1st century!? I want to see games like Mahjong or Backgammon!
Well they do have one or two versions of chess :D.

EDIT: I hope someday in the near future they release pong and put a $9.99 price tag on it. let's see how many people who "wanted pre 2000 oldies" will appreciate that :D :D :D :D :D

Leroux: Sadly, Square Enix may not own the license to the first game. I think it was published by Activision and on top of that there may be compatibility issues with Vista and 7. I'm with you though, Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen would be an instabuy for me, regardless of the price point. :(

Paradoks: From what I know, compatibility issues have been pretty much dealt with by the community by now (besides there is Blood Omnicide coming).
Square Enix definetly owns PS1 version of the game. All legal problems seem related to the PC version.
Someone from GOG inform us!

For some reason that we will never know, they can't/won't tell us those things but that's true of any business.
While I'm thrilled to see yet another LoK game released, I'm somewhat annoyed and worried that you aren't following release order. Blood Omen 2 should have been next. Blood Omen 2 came out after Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance came out much later. I certainly hope you will still be releasing Blood Omen 2 here very soon.

I'd also hate to think you are not releasing Blood Omen 2 because you can't release Blood Omen 1. Blood Omen 2 is actually far more related to the Soul Reaver arc as it isn't really a direct sequel to Blood Omen. As Blood Omen 2 is an alternate reality created by the events of Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance. It's only really called Blood Omen 2 because you play as a younger Kain and Crystal Dynamics was attempting to create a 2nd line of LOK game series. I'd really hate to think BO2 never gets released because of some rights issue with the Blood Omen 1 title.

Still waiting for BLOOD OMEN: Legacy od Kain.
I'm not sure if this is considered the best LoK game, but it's certainly the one I enjoyed the most. Better graphics, good animations, refined combat, TWO absolutely badass playable characters, and many plot elements left hanging in the previous chapters are finally explained here.
And only 5.99$? That's surprising to say the least. This is one of the few games I consider underpriced on GOG.
